Even when he is honoured, the wicked man, vowed to the misfortune of the world, brings fear at every sight of him, like a snake living in the house.
About this subhashita
Dikshita means one who has taken a vow. As one takes the vow for a sacrifice, so he is said to have taken a vow for the world’s misfortune. The tone is ironic.
Grihahi is a snake that lives inside the home. It can neither be driven out nor be ignored. Even if it never bites, its presence is itself the fear.

However much a department praises a senior who humiliates juniors, the juniors stay careful in front of him. Praise does not change character.
This is no licence to treat anyone roughly. Giving respect is our upbringing and staying alert is our prudence. Both can sit together.
