ಕೇನಾದಿಷ್ಟೌ ಕಮಲಕುಮುದೋನ್ಮೀಲನೇ: ಯಾರೂ ಹೇಳದೆ ಮಾಡುವ ಉಪಕಾರ

ಬೆಳಗಿನ ಹೊತ್ತು ಅಂಗಳದ ಹೂಗಳು ಯಾರೂ ಹೇಳದೆ ಅರಳುತ್ತವೆ. ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಅರಳಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ಯಾರೂ ಸೂರ್ಯನಿಗೆ ಅರ್ಜಿ ಬರೆದುಕೊಟ್ಟಿಲ್ಲ.

ಅದೇ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಈ ಶ್ಲೋಕ ಸಜ್ಜನರ ಸ್ವಭಾವಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊಂದಿಸಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತದೆ. ಇದೊಂದು ನಾಲ್ಕು ಪಾದಗಳ ವೃತ್ತ. ಮೊದಲ ಸಾಲು ಎರಡು ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆ ಕೇಳುತ್ತದೆ, ಎರಡನೆಯ ಸಾಲು ಉತ್ತರ ಕೊಡುತ್ತದೆ.

ಕೇನಾದಿಷ್ಟೌ (केनादिष्टौ, kenādiṣṭau) = ಯಾರ ಆಜ್ಞೆಯಂತೆ ನಿಯೋಜನೆಗೊಂಡ ಇಬ್ಬರು (the two who were charged by whose command)
ಕಮಲಕುಮುದೋನ್ಮೀಲನೇ (कमलकुमुदोन्मीलने, kamalakumudonmīlane) = ಕಮಲ ಮತ್ತು ಕುಮುದಗಳನ್ನು ಅರಳಿಸುವುದರಲ್ಲಿ (in opening the lotus and the night lily)

ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಅರ್ಥ (ಕನ್ನಡ)

ಕಮಲ ಮತ್ತು ಕುಮುದಗಳನ್ನು ಅರಳಿಸಲು ಸೂರ್ಯಚಂದ್ರರಿಗೆ ಯಾರು ಆಜ್ಞೆ ಮಾಡಿದರು. ಜಗತ್ತನ್ನು ನೀರಿನಿಂದ ಸ್ನಾನ ಮಾಡಿಸಲು ಮೋಡಕ್ಕೆ ಯಾರು ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಜಗತ್ತಿನ ಆನಂದವನ್ನು ಬೆಳೆಸುವ ಮಹಾತ್ಮರ ಈ ಪ್ರಕಾಶಮಾನವಾದ ಸ್ವಭಾವ ದುರ್ಜನರಿಗೆ ಸಿಗಲು ಕಷ್ಟ. ಅದು ಹೊಗಳಲು ಯೋಗ್ಯವಾದುದು, ಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಗೆಲ್ಲುತ್ತದೆ.

ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಅರ್ಥ (ಇಂಗ್ಲಿಷ್)

Who ordered the sun and the moon to open the lotus and the night lily? Who told the cloud to bathe the world with water? This bright nature of the great, so skilled at increasing the world’s joy, is hard for the wicked to reach. It is worthy of praise, and it prevails in the world.

ಈ ಸುಭಾಷಿತದ ಬಗ್ಗೆAbout this subhashita

ಪುಷ್ಪವಂತೌ ಎಂದರೆ ಹೂವಿನ ಜೊತೆ ಇರುವ ಇಬ್ಬರು. ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಇದು ಸೂರ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಚಂದ್ರರನ್ನು ಸೂಚಿಸುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ಸೂರ್ಯ ಕಮಲವನ್ನೂ ಚಂದ್ರ ಕುಮುದವನ್ನೂ ಅರಳಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.

Pushpavantau means the two who go with flowers. We have taken it, as the tradition does, to mean the sun and the moon. The sun opens the lotus and the moon opens the night lily.

ನಿಸರ್ಗ ಎಂದರೆ ಸಹಜ ಸ್ವಭಾವ. ಶ್ಲೋಕದ ಒತ್ತು ಇರುವುದು ಅಲ್ಲಿಯೇ: ಉಪಕಾರ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನದ ಫಲವಲ್ಲ, ಹುಟ್ಟಿನಿಂದ ಬಂದ ಗುಣ.

Nisarga means inborn nature. The verse rests its weight there: here, kindness is not the fruit of effort but a quality that comes with the person.

ಇಂದಿನ ಬದುಕಿಗೆFor life today

ಕೆಲವರು ಯಾರೂ ಕೇಳದಿದ್ದರೂ ವಾರ್ಡಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಸ ಕಲಿಕೆಯವರಿಗೆ ದಾರಿ ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಅಂಥವರ ಸಹಾಯ ಲೆಕ್ಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಆದರೆ ಅದರ ಪರಿಣಾಮ ದೊಡ್ಡದು.

Some people show the way to newcomers on the ward though nobody asked. Their help is never counted, but its effect is large.

ಹೇಳದೆ ಮಾಡುವುದು ಎಂದರೆ ಗಮನಿಸಿ ಎಂದು ಕಾಯುವುದಲ್ಲ. ಮೆಚ್ಚುಗೆ ಬರದಿದ್ದರೂ ಮೋಡದ ಹಾಗೆ ಸುರಿಯುವ ಮನಸ್ಸು ಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಶ್ಲೋಕ ಸೂಚಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.

Doing without being told does not mean waiting to be noticed. The verse suggests a mind that pours like the cloud even when no praise comes.
