ಜರಾಸಂಧನ ಸೆರೆಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ವರ್ಷಗಟ್ಟಲೆ ಬಂದಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದ ಸಾವಿರಾರು ರಾಜರು ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಯಾದ ದಿನ ಕೃಷ್ಣನ ಮುಂದೆ ನಿಂತು ಹೇಳಿದ ಮಾತುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಶ್ಲೋಕವೂ ಇದೆ ಎಂದು ಭಾಗವತ ಹೇಳುತ್ತದೆ.
ನಾಲ್ಕು ಹೆಸರುಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಒಂದು ಗುಣ: ಶರಣಾದವರ ಕ್ಲೇಶವನ್ನು ನಾಶಮಾಡುವವನು. ಸೆರೆಯಿಂದ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಯಾದವರ ಬಾಯಿಂದ ಬಂದ ಮಾತು ಎಂಬುದೇ ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ತೂಕ.
ಶ್ಲೋಕ (ಕನ್ನಡ)
ಕೃಷ್ಣಾಯ ವಾಸುದೇವಾಯ ಹರಯೇ ಪರಮಾತ್ಮನೇ ।
ಪ್ರಣತಕ್ಲೇಶನಾಶಾಯ ಗೋವಿಂದಾಯ ನಮೋ ನಮಃ ॥

कृष्णाय वासुदेवाय हरये परमात्मने ।
प्रणतक्लेशनाशाय गोविन्दाय नमो नमः ॥

ಪದಶಃ ಅರ್ಥ
- ಕೃಷ್ಣಾಯ (कृष्णाय, kṛṣṇāya) = ಕೃಷ್ಣನಿಗೆ (to Krishna)
- ವಾಸುದೇವಾಯ (वासुदेवाय, vāsudevāya) = ವಸುದೇವನ ಮಗನಿಗೆ, ಎಲ್ಲೆಡೆ ನೆಲೆಸಿರುವವನಿಗೆ (to Vasudeva, son of Vasudeva, the one who dwells in all)
- ಹರಯೇ (हरये, haraye) = ಹರಿಗೆ (to Hari)
- ಪರಮಾತ್ಮನೇ (परमात्मने, paramātmane) = ಪರಮಾತ್ಮನಿಗೆ (to the supreme self)
- ಪ್ರಣತಕ್ಲೇಶನಾಶಾಯ (प्रणतक्लेशनाशाय, praṇatakleśanāśāya) = ಶರಣಾಗಿ ನಮಿಸಿದವರ ಕ್ಲೇಶವನ್ನು ನಾಶಮಾಡುವವನಿಗೆ (to the destroyer of the suffering of those who bow down)

ಕೃಷ್ಣನಿಗೆ, ವಾಸುದೇವನಿಗೆ, ಹರಿಗೆ, ಪರಮಾತ್ಮನಿಗೆ, ಶರಣಾದವರ ಕ್ಲೇಶವನ್ನು ನಾಶಮಾಡುವ ಗೋವಿಂದನಿಗೆ ಮತ್ತೆ ಮತ್ತೆ ನಮಸ್ಕಾರ.
ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಅರ್ಥ (ಇಂಗ್ಲಿಷ್)
Salutations again and again to Krishna, to Vasudeva, to Hari, to the supreme self, to Govinda who destroys the suffering of those who bow to him.
ಈ ಶ್ಲೋಕದ ಬಗ್ಗೆAbout this verse
ಭಾಗವತದ ದಶಮ ಸ್ಕಂಧದಲ್ಲಿ ಭೀಮ ಜರಾಸಂಧನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದ ನಂತರ ಕೃಷ್ಣ ಸೆರೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ರಾಜರನ್ನು ಬಿಡಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಅವರು ಕೃಷ್ಣನನ್ನು ಸ್ತುತಿಸುವ ಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಶ್ಲೋಕ ಬರುತ್ತದೆ. ಭಾಗವತದ ಬೇರೆ ಬೇರೆ ಆವೃತ್ತಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ಲೋಕ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಬದಲಾಗಬಹುದು.
In the tenth book of the Bhagavata, after Bhima kills Jarasandha, Krishna frees the imprisoned kings. The verse comes in their hymn of praise to him. The verse number can differ slightly between editions of the Bhagavata.
ವಾಸುದೇವ ಎಂಬ ಹೆಸರಿಗೆ ಎರಡು ಅರ್ಥಗಳನ್ನು ಪರಂಪರೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತದೆ: ವಸುದೇವನ ಮಗ, ಮತ್ತು ಎಲ್ಲ ಜೀವಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸುವ ದೇವ. ವಿಷ್ಣು ಸಹಸ್ರನಾಮದ ವ್ಯಾಖ್ಯಾನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಡನೆಯ ಅರ್ಥಕ್ಕೆ ಒತ್ತು ಇದೆ.
Tradition gives two senses of the name Vasudeva: the son of Vasudeva, and the god who dwells in all beings. Commentaries on the Vishnu Sahasranama stress the second.

ಇಂದಿನ ಬದುಕಿಗೆFor life today
ಕ್ಲೇಶ ಎಂದರೆ ದೇಹದ ನೋವಿನ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನ ದಣಿವೂ. ದೀರ್ಘಕಾಲದ ಕಾಯಿಲೆ ಅಥವಾ ಆರೈಕೆಯ ಹೊಣೆ ಹೊತ್ತವರಿಗೆ ಈ ಶ್ಲೋಕದ ಪ್ರಣತಕ್ಲೇಶನಾಶಾಯ ಎಂಬ ಪದ ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ಹತ್ತಿರವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.
Klesha is not only bodily pain but weariness of the mind. For those living with long illness, or carrying the work of caring for someone, the word pranataklesha-nashaya comes especially close.
ಸೆರೆಯಿಂದ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಯಾದ ರಾಜರು ಮೊದಲು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದು ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆ ಹೇಳುವುದು. ಕಷ್ಟ ಕಳೆದ ನಂತರ ಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡಿದವರಿಗೆ ಧನ್ಯವಾದ ಹೇಳುವುದನ್ನು ಮರೆಯುವುದು ಸುಲಭ.
The first thing the freed kings did was give thanks. Once hardship has passed, it is easy to forget to thank those who helped.
