ಸ್ಥಿರೋ ಗಂಗಾವರ್ತಃ ಸ್ತನಮುಕುಲರೋಮಾವಲಿಲತಾ-
ಕಲಾವಾಲಂ ಕುಂಡಂ ಕುಸುಮಶರತೇಜೋಹುತಭುಜಃ ।
ರತೇರ್ಲೀಲಾಗಾರಂ ಕಿಮಪಿ ತವ ನಾಭಿರ್ಗಿರಿಸುತೇ
ಬಿಲದ್ವಾರಂ ಸಿದ್ಧೇ-ರ್ಗಿರಿಶನಯನಾನಾಂ ವಿಜಯತೇ ॥ 78 ॥
ಶ್ಲೋಕ (ದೇವನಾಗರಿ)
स्थिरो गङ्गावर्तः स्तनमुकुलरोमावलिलता
कलावालं कुण्डं कुसुमशरतेजोहुतभुजः ।
रतेर्लीलागारं किमपि तव नाभिर्गिरिसुते
बिलद्वारं सिद्धेर्गिरिशनयनानां विजयते ॥ 78 ॥

sthiro gaṅgāvartaḥ stanamukularomāvalilatā
kalāvālaṃ kuṇḍaṃ kusumaśaratejohutabhujaḥ |
raterlīlāgāraṃ kimapi tava nābhirgirisute

ಪದಶಃ ಅರ್ಥ
- ಸ್ಥಿರಃ ಗಂಗಾವರ್ತಃ (स्थिरः गङ्गावर्तः, sthiraḥ gaṅgāvartaḥ) = ಸ್ಥಿರವಾದ ಗಂಗೆಯ ಸುಳಿ (a still whirlpool in the Ganga)
- ಸ್ತನಮುಕುಲ (स्तनमुकुल, stanamukula) = ಮೊಗ್ಗುಗಳಂತಿರುವ ಸ್ತನಗಳುಳ್ಳ (bearing your breasts as buds)
- ರೋಮಾವಲಿಲತಾ (रोमावलिलता, romāvalilatā) = ರೋಮರಾಜಿ ಎಂಬ ಬಳ್ಳಿಯ (of the creeper of fine hair)
- ಕಲಾವಾಲಂ (कलावालं, kalāvālaṃ) = ಬುಡದ ಪಾತಿ (the basin at the root)
- ಕುಂಡಂ (कुण्डं, kuṇḍaṃ) = ಹೋಮಕುಂಡ (the fire-pit)
- ಕುಸುಮಶರತೇಜೋಹುತಭುಜಃ (कुसुमशरतेजोहुतभुजः, kusumaśaratejohutabhujaḥ) = ಮನ್ಮಥನ ತೇಜಸ್ಸೆಂಬ ಅಗ್ನಿಯ (of the fire that is Kama’s power)

- ಸಿದ್ಧೇಃ (सिद्धेः, siddheḥ) = ತಪಸ್ಸಿನ ಸಿದ್ಧಿಯ (of the fulfilment of austerities)
- ಗಿರಿಶನಯನಾನಾಂ (गिरिशनयनानां, giriśanayanānāṃ) = ಶಿವನ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳಿಗೆ (for Shiva’s eyes)
- ವಿಜಯತೇ (विजयते, vijayate) = ಮೆರೆಯುತ್ತದೆ (reigns supreme)
ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಅರ್ಥ (ಕನ್ನಡ)
ಗಿರಿಜೆಯೇ, ಹೇಳಲಾಗದ ಚೆಲುವಿನ ನಿನ್ನ ಹೊಕ್ಕಳು ಗಂಗೆಯ ಸ್ಥಿರವಾದ ಸುಳಿಯಂತಿದೆ. ಸ್ತನಗಳೆಂಬ ಮೊಗ್ಗುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊತ್ತ ರೋಮರಾಜಿ ಎಂಬ ಬಳ್ಳಿಯ ಬುಡದ ಪಾತಿಯಂತಿದೆ. ಮನ್ಮಥನ ತೇಜಸ್ಸೆಂಬ ಅಗ್ನಿ ಉರಿಯುವ ಹೋಮಕುಂಡದಂತಿದೆ, ರತಿಯ ವಿಹಾರಗೃಹದಂತಿದೆ. ಶಿವನ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳಿಗೆ ತಪಸ್ಸಿನ ಸಿದ್ಧಿ ದೊರೆತ ಗುಹೆಯ ಬಾಗಿಲಿನಂತಿದೆ. ಹೀಗೆ ಅದು ಮೆರೆಯುತ್ತದೆ.
ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಅರ್ಥ (ಇಂಗ್ಲಿಷ್)
Daughter of the mountain, your navel, lovely beyond words, reigns supreme. It is a still whirlpool in the Ganga; the basin at the root of the creeper of fine hair that bears your breasts as its buds; the fire-pit where the flame of Kama’s power burns; the pleasure-house of Rati; and the mouth of the cave in which Shiva’s eyes found the fulfilment of his austerities.
