ಒಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ನಡೆಯೋಣ, ಒಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಮಾತಾಡೋಣ, ಒಬ್ಬರನ್ನೊಬ್ಬರು ಅರಿಯೋಣ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುವ ಋಗ್ವೇದದ ಎರಡು ಸಾಲಿನ ಮಂತ್ರ ಇದು.
ಋಗ್ವೇದದ ಕೊನೆಯ ಸೂಕ್ತವಾದ ಸಂಜ್ಞಾನ ಸೂಕ್ತದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾಲ್ಕು ಮಂತ್ರಗಳಿವೆ. ಇದು ಅದರ ಎರಡನೆಯದು. ಹಿಂದಿನ ದೇವತೆಗಳು ಒಂದೇ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಿಂದ ತಮ್ಮ ಪಾಲನ್ನು ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಿದಂತೆ ನಾವೂ ಒಗ್ಗೂಡಿ ಬಾಳೋಣ ಎಂಬ ಹಾರೈಕೆ ಇಲ್ಲಿದೆ.
ಶ್ಲೋಕ (ಕನ್ನಡ)
ಸಂ ಗಚ್ಛಧ್ವಂ ಸಂ ವದಧ್ವಂ ಸಂ ವೋ ಮನಾಂಸಿ ಜಾನತಾಮ್ ।
ದೇವಾ ಭಾಗಂ ಯಥಾ ಪೂರ್ವೇ ಸಂಜಾನಾನಾ ಉಪಾಸತೇ ॥
ಶ್ಲೋಕ (ದೇವನಾಗರಿ)
सं गच्छध्वं सं वदध्वं सं वो मनांसि जानताम् ।
देवा भागं यथा पूर्वे संजानाना उपासते ॥

saṃ gacchadhvaṃ saṃ vadadhvaṃ saṃ vo manāṃsi jānatām |

ಪದಶಃ ಅರ್ಥ
- ಸಂ ಗಚ್ಛಧ್ವಂ (सं गच्छध्वं, saṃ gacchadhvaṃ) = ಒಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ನಡೆಯಿರಿ, ಒಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಸಾಗಿರಿ (move together)
- ಸಂ ವದಧ್ವಂ (सं वदध्वं, saṃ vadadhvaṃ) = ಒಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಮಾತಾಡಿರಿ (speak together)
- ಸಂ (सं, saṃ) = ಒಟ್ಟಿಗೆ, ಒಂದಾಗಿ (together, in harmony)
- ವಃ (वः, vaḥ) = ನಿಮ್ಮ (your)
- ಮನಾಂಸಿ (मनांसि, manāṃsi) = ಮನಸ್ಸುಗಳು (minds)
- ಜಾನತಾಂ (जानतां, jānatāṃ) = ಅರಿಯಲಿ, ಒಂದೇ ಬಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಿಳಿಯಲಿ (may they know)
- ದೇವಾ (देवा, devā) = ದೇವತೆಗಳು (the gods)
- ಭಾಗಂ (भागं, bhāgaṃ) = ತಮ್ಮ ಪಾಲನ್ನು (their share)
- ಯಥಾ (यथा, yathā) = ಹೇಗೆ, ಹಾಗೆಯೇ (as, just as)
- ಪೂರ್ವೇ (पूर्वे, pūrve) = ಹಿಂದಿನವರು, ಪ್ರಾಚೀನರು (those of old)
- ಸಂಜಾನಾನಾ (संजानाना, saṃjānānā) = ಒಂದೇ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನವರಾಗಿ (ಸಂಜಾನಾನಾಃ) (being of one mind)
- ಉಪಾಸತೇ (उपासते, upāsate) = ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು, ಸೇವಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು (partook, shared in)
ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಅರ್ಥ (ಕನ್ನಡ)
ಒಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ನಡೆಯೋಣ. ಒಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಮಾತಾಡೋಣ. ನಮ್ಮ ಮನಸ್ಸುಗಳು ಒಂದನ್ನೊಂದು ಅರಿಯಲಿ. ಹಿಂದಿನ ದೇವತೆಗಳು ಒಂದೇ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಿಂದ ತಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮ ಪಾಲನ್ನು ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ನಾವೂ ಇರೋಣ.
ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಅರ್ಥ (ಇಂಗ್ಲಿಷ್)
Let us move together. Let us speak together. May our minds come to know one another. As the gods of old, being of one mind, took their shares, so may we.
ಈ ಶ್ಲೋಕದ ಬಗ್ಗೆAbout this verse
ಋಗ್ವೇದದ ಕೊನೆಯ ಸೂಕ್ತ 10.191. ಇದರಲ್ಲಿ ನಾಲ್ಕು ಮಂತ್ರಗಳಿವೆ. ಇದು ಎರಡನೆಯದು. ಈ ಪುಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ವರ ಚಿಹ್ನೆಗಳಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಮುದ್ರಿಸಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ವೇದದ ಪಾಠದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ವರಗಳಿವೆ.
This is the last hymn of the Rigveda, 10.191. It has four mantras, and this is the second. We print it here without accent marks. The Vedic recitation carries the accents.
ಈ ಸೂಕ್ತವನ್ನು ಸಂಜ್ಞಾನ ಸೂಕ್ತ ಅಥವಾ ಐಕಮತ್ಯ ಸೂಕ್ತ ಎಂದು ಕರೆಯುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಸಂ ಗಚ್ಛಧ್ವಂ ಎಂಬುದು ಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಗಚ್ಛಧ್ವಂ ಎಂದೂ ಬರುತ್ತದೆ. ಅರ್ಥ ಒಂದೇ.
The hymn is called the Samjnana Sukta or the Aikamatya Sukta. In books, sam gacchadhvam is also printed joined as sangacchadhvam. The meaning is the same.
ಉಪಾಸತೇ ಎಂಬುದಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇವಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ, ಹಂಚಿಕೊಂಡು ಅನುಭವಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ ಎಂಬ ಅರ್ಥಗಳನ್ನು ಭಾಷ್ಯಕಾರರು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುವ ಅರ್ಥವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೇವೆ.

ಇಂದಿನ ಬದುಕಿಗೆFor life today
ಒಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ನಡೆಯುವುದು, ಒಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಮಾತಾಡುವುದು ಮತ್ತು ಒಬ್ಬರ ಮನಸ್ಸನ್ನು ಇನ್ನೊಬ್ಬರು ಅರಿಯುವುದು ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲೂ ಕೆಲಸದ ಜಾಗದಲ್ಲೂ ಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡುತ್ತವೆ. ಮೊದಲು ಕೇಳಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರೆ ಮಾತು ಸುಲಭವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.
Walking together, speaking together and understanding one another’s minds help at home and at work. When we listen first, speaking becomes easier.
ಒಗ್ಗಟ್ಟು ಎಂದರೆ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಒಂದೇ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯ ಹೊಂದುವುದಲ್ಲ. ಬೇರೆ ಬೇರೆ ಮನಸ್ಸುಗಳು ಒಬ್ಬರನ್ನೊಬ್ಬರು ಗೌರವದಿಂದ ಅರಿಯಲು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸುವುದು ಎಂದು ಈ ಮಂತ್ರವನ್ನು ಓದಬಹುದು.
Unity need not mean that everyone holds one opinion. We can read this mantra as different minds trying to understand one another with respect.
