ಗಣನಾಥನ ಹಲವು ಗುಣಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿ ನಮಸ್ಕರಿಸುವ ಎರಡು ಸಾಲಿನ ಸ್ತುತಿ ಇದು.
ವಿಘ್ನಗಳ ಒಡೆಯ, ವರ ಕೊಡುವವನು, ಗೌರಿಯ ಮಗ ಎಂದು ಕರೆದು ಮತ್ತೆ ಮತ್ತೆ ನಮಿಸುವುದು ಇದರ ಭಾವ.
ಶ್ಲೋಕ (ಕನ್ನಡ)
ವಿಘ್ನೇಶ್ವರಾಯ ವರದಾಯ ಸುರಪ್ರಿಯಾಯ ಲಂಬೋದರಾಯ ಸಕಲಾಯ ಜಗದ್ಧಿತಾಯ ।
ನಾಗಾನನಾಯ ಶ್ರುತಿಯಜ್ಞವಿಭೂಷಿತಾಯ ಗೌರೀಸುತಾಯ ಗಣನಾಥ ನಮೋ ನಮಸ್ತೇ ॥

विघ्नेश्वराय वरदाय सुरप्रियाय लंबोदराय सकलाय जगद्धिताय ।
नागाननाय श्रुतियज्ञविभूषिताय गौरीसुताय गणनाथ नमो नमस्ते ॥

ಪದಶಃ ಅರ್ಥ
- ವಿಘ್ನೇಶ್ವರಾಯ (विघ्नेश्वराय, vighneśvarāya) = ವಿಘ್ನಗಳ ಒಡೆಯನಿಗೆ (to the lord of obstacles)
- ವರದಾಯ (वरदाय, varadāya) = ವರ ಕೊಡುವವನಿಗೆ (to the giver of boons)
- ಸುರಪ್ರಿಯಾಯ (सुरप्रियाय, surapriyāya) = ದೇವತೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಿಯನಾದವನಿಗೆ (to the one dear to the gods)
- ಲಂಬೋದರಾಯ (लंबोदराय, laṃbodarāya) = ದೊಡ್ಡ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಯವನಿಗೆ (to the one with the great belly)
- ಸಕಲಾಯ (सकलाय, sakalāya) = ಎಲ್ಲವೂ ಆಗಿರುವವನಿಗೆ, ಪೂರ್ಣನಿಗೆ (to the one who is whole)
- ಜಗದ್ಧಿತಾಯ (जगद्धिताय, jagaddhitāya) = ಲೋಕದ ಹಿತವನ್ನು ಬಯಸುವವನಿಗೆ (to the well-wisher of the world)
- ನಾಗಾನನಾಯ (नागाननाय, nāgānanāya) = ಆನೆಯ ಮುಖದವನಿಗೆ (to the elephant-faced one)
- ಶ್ರುತಿಯಜ್ಞವಿಭೂಷಿತಾಯ (श्रुतियज्ञविभूषिताय, śrutiyajñavibhūṣitāya) = ವೇದಗಳಿಂದ ಮತ್ತು ಯಜ್ಞಗಳಿಂದ ಶೋಭಿಸುವವನಿಗೆ (to the one adorned by the Vedas and sacrifices)
- ಗೌರೀಸುತಾಯ (गौरीसुताय, gaurīsutāya) = ಗೌರಿಯ ಮಗನಿಗೆ (to the son of Gauri)
- ಗಣನಾಥ (गणनाथ, gaṇanātha) = ಗಣಗಳ ಒಡೆಯನೇ (O lord of the ganas)
- ನಮೋ ನಮಸ್ತೇ (नमो नमस्ते, namo namaste) = ನಿನಗೆ ನಮಸ್ಕಾರ, ನಮಸ್ಕಾರ (ನಮಃ + ನಮಃ + ತೇ) (salutations to you, again and again)
ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಅರ್ಥ (ಕನ್ನಡ)
ವಿಘ್ನಗಳ ಒಡೆಯನಿಗೆ ನಮಸ್ಕಾರ. ವರ ಕೊಡುವವನಿಗೆ ನಮಸ್ಕಾರ. ದೇವತೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಿಯನಾದವನಿಗೆ ನಮಸ್ಕಾರ. ದೊಡ್ಡ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಯವನಿಗೂ ಪೂರ್ಣನಿಗೂ ಲೋಕಹಿತನಿಗೂ ನಮಸ್ಕಾರ. ಆನೆಯ ಮುಖದವನಿಗೆ ನಮಸ್ಕಾರ. ವೇದ ಮತ್ತು ಯಜ್ಞಗಳಿಂದ ಶೋಭಿಸುವವನಿಗೆ ನಮಸ್ಕಾರ. ಗೌರಿಯ ಮಗನೇ, ಗಣನಾಥನೇ, ನಿನಗೆ ಮತ್ತೆ ಮತ್ತೆ ನಮಸ್ಕಾರ.
ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಅರ್ಥ (ಇಂಗ್ಲಿಷ್)
Salutations to the lord of obstacles, the giver of boons, the one dear to the gods. Salutations to the great-bellied, the whole, the well-wisher of the world. Salutations to the elephant-faced one, adorned by the Vedas and sacrifices. O son of Gauri, lord of the ganas, we bow to you again and again.
ಈ ಶ್ಲೋಕದ ಬಗ್ಗೆAbout this verse
ಇದೊಂದು ಗಣೇಶನ ನಮಸ್ಕಾರ ಶ್ಲೋಕ. ಇದನ್ನು ಬಹುಮಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಗಣೇಶ ಚತುರ್ಥಿಯ ಶುಭಾಶಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮತ್ತು ಪೂಜೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ.
This is a salutation verse to Ganesha. It is often said in Ganesha Chaturthi greetings and in puja.
ಕೆಲವು ಮುದ್ರಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊನೆಯ ಪಾದ ಗಣನಾಥ ನಮೋಽಸ್ತು ತೇ ಎಂದಿದೆ. ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಮುದ್ರಿತವಾದ ನಮೋ ನಮಸ್ತೇ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ನಾವು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ಜಗದ್ಧಿತಾಯ ಎಂಬಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವು ಕಡೆ ಜಗದ್ವಿತಾಯ ಎಂದು ಮುದ್ರಣದಲ್ಲಿ ತಪ್ಪಾಗಿದೆ.
Some printings read the last line as gananatha namo astu te. We take the more widely printed namo namaste. Some printings misprint jagaddhitaya as jagadvitaya.
ನಾಗ ಎಂದರೆ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಆನೆ. ಈ ಶ್ಲೋಕದ ಮೂಲ ಗ್ರಂಥ ನಮಗೆ ಖಚಿತವಾಗಿಲ್ಲ.
Naga here means elephant. We have not confirmed the source text of this verse.

ಇಂದಿನ ಬದುಕಿಗೆFor life today
ಒಂದೇ ದೇವನನ್ನು ಹಲವು ಹೆಸರುಗಳಿಂದ ಕರೆಯುವುದು ನಮ್ಮ ಮನಸ್ಸನ್ನು ನಿಧಾನವಾಗಿ ಒಂದೆಡೆ ತರುತ್ತದೆ. ಹೊಸ ಕೆಲಸದ ಮುನ್ನ ಈ ಎರಡು ಸಾಲನ್ನು ಶಾಂತವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಬಹುದು.
Calling one deity by many names gently gathers the mind. We can say these two lines quietly before beginning new work.
ಲೋಕದ ಹಿತ ಬಯಸುವವನಿಗೆ ನಮಸ್ಕಾರ ಎನ್ನುವಾಗ, ನಾವೂ ಇತರರ ಹಿತವನ್ನು ಬಯಸುವ ನೆನಪು ಮೂಡುತ್ತದೆ. ವಿಘ್ನ ದೂರವಾಗಲಿ ಎಂದು ಬೇಡುವುದರ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಸಿದ್ಧತೆಯನ್ನೂ ಮಾಡೋಣ.
Saluting the well-wisher of the world reminds us to wish others well too. Along with asking that obstacles clear, let us also prepare well.
