About this verse
It is followed by the verse Gange cha yamune chaiva, which invokes seven rivers into the pot and has its own page on this site. Some manuals also add a line beginning atra gayatri savitri.
The last line is also found as kalasham tu samashritah, with the same meaning. The limbs of the Veda are the six vedangas: phonetics, grammar, metre, etymology, astronomy and ritual.

ಇಂದಿನ ಬದುಕಿಗೆFor life today
Seeing a single pot of water as the whole cosmos is a great flight of imagination. Behind it lies a plain fact too: all life rests on water. In many homes, after the puja, the water is sprinkled on the family and the rest is poured at the tulasi or on the plants.
