ಶ್ರೀಖಂಡಂ ಚಂದನಂ ದಿವ್ಯಂ ಗಂಧಾಢ್ಯಂ ಸುಮನೋಹರಂ ।
ವಿಲೇಪನಂ ಸುರಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ ಚಂದನಂ ಪ್ರತಿಗೃಹ್ಯತಾಮ್ ॥

श्रीखण्डं चन्दनं दिव्यं गन्धाढ्यं सुमनोहरं ।
विलेपनं सुरश्रेष्ठ चन्दनं प्रतिगृह्यताम् ॥

śrīkhaṇḍaṃ candanaṃ divyaṃ gandhāḍhyaṃ sumanoharaṃ |
vilepanaṃ suraśreṣṭha candanaṃ pratigṛhyatām ||

In the sixteen step worship, sandal paste is the sixth offering after the bath and clothing, the stage of offering fragrance after purification.
