ನಾನು ಇರುವುದು ಭಕ್ತರು ಹಾಡುವಲ್ಲಿ ಎಂದು ವಿಷ್ಣು ನಾರದನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳುವ ನಾಲ್ಕು ಸಾಲಿನ ಶ್ಲೋಕ ಇದು.
ಭಜನೆ, ಕೀರ್ತನೆ ಮತ್ತು ನಾಮಸಂಕೀರ್ತನೆಯ ಮಹತ್ವವನ್ನು ಹೇಳಲು ಈ ಶ್ಲೋಕವನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಉಲ್ಲೇಖಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.
ಶ್ಲೋಕ (ಕನ್ನಡ)
ನಾಹಂ ವಸಾಮಿ ವೈಕುಂಠೇ
ಯೋಗಿನಾಂ ಹೃದಯೇ ನ ಚ ।
ಮದ್ಭಕ್ತಾ ಯತ್ರ ಗಾಯಂತಿ
ತತ್ರ ತಿಷ್ಠಾಮಿ ನಾರದ ॥

नाहं वसामि वैकुंठे
योगिनां हृदये न च ।
मद्भक्ता यत्र गायंति
तत्र तिष्ठामि नारद ॥
ಶ್ಲೋಕ (IAST)
nāhaṃ vasāmi vaikuṃṭhe
yogināṃ hṛdaye na ca |
madbhaktā yatra gāyaṃti
tatra tiṣṭhāmi nārada ||
ಪದಶಃ ಅರ್ಥ
- ನಾಹಂ (नाहं, nāhaṃ) = ನಾನು ಅಲ್ಲ (ನ + ಅಹಂ) (I do not (na + aham))
- ವಸಾಮಿ (वसामि, vasāmi) = ವಾಸಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ (dwell)
- ವೈಕುಂಠೇ (वैकुंठे, vaikuṃṭhe) = ವೈಕುಂಠದಲ್ಲಿ (in Vaikuntha)
- ಯೋಗಿನಾಂ (योगिनां, yogināṃ) = ಯೋಗಿಗಳ (of the yogis)
- ಹೃದಯೇ (हृदये, hṛdaye) = ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿ (in the heart)
- ನ (न, na) = ಅಲ್ಲ (nor)
- ಚ (च, ca) = ಮತ್ತು (and)
- ಮದ್ಭಕ್ತಾ (मद्भक्ता, madbhaktā) = ನನ್ನ ಭಕ್ತರು (ಮತ್ + ಭಕ್ತಾಃ, ಕೆಲವು ಮುದ್ರಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮದ್ಭಕ್ತಾಃ) (my devotees)
- ಯತ್ರ (यत्र, yatra) = ಎಲ್ಲಿ (where)
- ಗಾಯಂತಿ (गायंति, gāyaṃti) = ಹಾಡುತ್ತಾರೋ (sing)
- ತತ್ರ (तत्र, tatra) = ಅಲ್ಲಿ (there)
- ತಿಷ್ಠಾಮಿ (तिष्ठामि, tiṣṭhāmi) = ನೆಲೆಸುತ್ತೇನೆ (I stay)
- ನಾರದ (नारद, nārada) = ನಾರದನೇ (O Narada)
ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಅರ್ಥ (ಕನ್ನಡ)
ನಾನು ವೈಕುಂಠದಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಯೋಗಿಗಳ ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಇರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ನನ್ನ ಭಕ್ತರು ಎಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಡುತ್ತಾರೋ, ನಾರದನೇ, ನಾನು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ನೆಲೆಸುತ್ತೇನೆ.
ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಅರ್ಥ (ಇಂಗ್ಲಿಷ್)
I do not dwell in Vaikuntha, nor in the hearts of yogis. Where my devotees sing, O Narada, there I stay.
ಈ ಶ್ಲೋಕದ ಬಗ್ಗೆAbout this verse
ಇದು ವಿಷ್ಣು ನಾರದನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳುವ ಮಾತು. ಪದ್ಮಪುರಾಣದ್ದು ಎಂದು ಪರಂಪರೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತದೆ. ಆದರೆ ಅದು ಅಧ್ಯಾಯದ ಉಲ್ಲೇಖವಿಲ್ಲದ ಒಂದೇ ಹೇಳಿಕೆ, ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಇದನ್ನು ದೃಢಪಟ್ಟಿಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ಪರಿಗಣಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ.
Here Vishnu speaks to Narada. The tradition ascribes it to the Padma Purana. That is a single citation without a chapter, so we treat it as unverified.
ಕೆಲವು ಮುದ್ರಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂರನೇ ಸಾಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮದ್ಭಕ್ತಾಃ ಎಂದು ವಿಸರ್ಗದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಇದೆ. ಅರ್ಥದಲ್ಲಿ ವ್ಯತ್ಯಾಸವಿಲ್ಲ. ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಕಡೆ ಕಂಡ ಪಾಠವನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೇವೆ.
Some printings read madbhaktaah with a visarga in the third line. The meaning does not change. We give the form we found most often.

ಇಂದಿನ ಬದುಕಿಗೆFor life today
ದೇವರು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲ, ಪ್ರೀತಿಯಿಂದ ಹಾಡುವ ಕ್ಷಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುತ್ತಾನೆ ಎಂಬ ನಂಬಿಕೆ ಇಲ್ಲಿದೆ. ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಕುಳಿತು ಹಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಇದು ಪ್ರೇರಣೆ ಕೊಡಬಹುದು.
The belief here is that God is not only in grand places but in the moment of loving song. It can inspire us to sit and sing together at home.
ಹಾಡುವಾಗ ಸ್ವರ ಸರಿಯಿರಬೇಕೆಂಬ ಚಿಂತೆ ಬೇಡ. ಭಾವವೇ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಎಂದು ಈ ಶ್ಲೋಕ ನೆನಪಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
We need not worry about a perfect voice while singing. The verse reminds us that feeling matters most.
