ಸಮಂ ಸರ್ವೇಷು ಭೂತೇಷು ತಿಷ್ಠಂತಂ ಪರಮೇಶ್ವರಮ್।
ವಿನಶ್ಯತ್ಸ್ವವಿನಶ್ಯಂತಂ ಯಃ ಪಶ್ಯತಿ ಸ ಪಶ್ಯತಿ ॥ 27 ॥

समं सर्वेषु भूतेषु तिष्ठन्तं परमेश्वरम्।
विनश्यत्स्वविनश्यन्तं यः पश्यति स पश्यति ॥ 27 ॥
ಶ್ಲೋಕ (English IAST)

ಪದಶಃ ಅರ್ಥ
- ಸರ್ವೇಷು ಭೂತೇಷು ಸಮಂ ತಿಷ್ಠಂತಮ್ (सर्वेषु भूतेषु समं तिष्ठन्तम्, sarveṣu bhūteṣu samaṃ tiṣṭhantam) = ಎಲ್ಲ ಜೀವಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮನಾಗಿ ನೆಲೆಸಿರುವ (abiding equally in all beings)
- ಪರಮೇಶ್ವರಮ್ (परमेश्वरम्, parameśvaram) = ಪರಮೇಶ್ವರನನ್ನು (the supreme Lord)
- ವಿನಶ್ಯತ್ಸು ಅವಿನಶ್ಯಂತಮ್ (विनश्यत्सु अविनश्यन्तम्, vinaśyatsu avinaśyantam) = ನಾಶವಾಗುವವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಾಶವಾಗದವನನ್ನು (the imperishable among the perishing)
- ಯಃ ಪಶ್ಯತಿ ಸಃ ಪಶ್ಯತಿ (यः पश्यति सः पश्यति, yaḥ paśyati saḥ paśyati) = ಯಾರು ಕಾಣುತ್ತಾನೋ ಅವನೇ ನಿಜವಾಗಿ ಕಾಣುತ್ತಾನೆ (one who sees this truly sees)
ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಅರ್ಥ (ಕನ್ನಡ)
ಎಲ್ಲ ಜೀವಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮನಾಗಿ ನೆಲೆಸಿರುವ, ನಾಶವಾಗುವವುಗಳ ನಡುವೆ ನಾಶವಾಗದ ಪರಮೇಶ್ವರನನ್ನು ಯಾರು ಕಾಣುತ್ತಾನೋ ಅವನೇ ನಿಜವಾಗಿ ಕಾಣುತ್ತಾನೆ.
ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಅರ್ಥ (ಇಂಗ್ಲಿಷ್)
One who sees the supreme Lord abiding equally in all beings, the imperishable among the perishing, truly sees.
ಶ್ಲೋಕ 13.27ರ ವಿವರಣೆContext and commentary on verse 13.27
‘ಯಃ ಪಶ್ಯತಿ ಸ ಪಶ್ಯತಿ’, ಕಾಣುವವನೇ ಕಾಣುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಉಳಿದವರು ಕಣ್ಣಿದ್ದೂ ಕಾಣುವುದಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂಬ ಧ್ವನಿ ಇದರಲ್ಲಿದೆ. ಶಂಕರಾಚಾರ್ಯರು ‘ಪರಮೇಶ್ವರ’ ಪದವನ್ನು ಬಿಡಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ: ದೇಹ, ಇಂದ್ರಿಯ, ಮನಸ್ಸು, ಬುದ್ಧಿ, ಅವ್ಯಕ್ತ, ಆತ್ಮ ಇವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಲಿಸಿದರೆ ಪರಮೇಶ್ವರ, ಬ್ರಹ್ಮನಿಂದ ಹುಲ್ಲುಕಡ್ಡಿಯವರೆಗೆ ಎಲ್ಲರಲ್ಲೂ ‘ಸಮ’, ವಿಶೇಷವಿಲ್ಲದವನು. ಎಲ್ಲ ಭಾವವಿಕಾರಗಳ ಮೂಲ ಹುಟ್ಟು, ಕೊನೆ ನಾಶ, ನಾಶವನ್ನೇ ನಿರಾಕರಿಸಿದಾಗ ಉಳಿದೆಲ್ಲ ವಿಕಾರಗಳೂ ನಿರಾಕರಣೆಯಾಗುತ್ತವೆ ಎನ್ನುತ್ತಾರೆ ಅವರು.
‘Yah pashyati sa pashyati’, the one who sees, sees. It carries the suggestion that the rest, though they have eyes, do not see. Shankara unfolds the word ‘parameshvara’: supreme in comparison with body, senses, mind, intellect, the unmanifest and the individual self, and ‘sama’, without distinction, in all from Brahma to a blade of grass. Of all changes of state the first is birth and the last destruction, and when destruction is denied, he says, all the other changes are denied with it.
ರಾಮಾನುಜಾಚಾರ್ಯರ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಣಬೇಕಾದದ್ದು ಜೀವಾತ್ಮ: ದೇವ ಮೊದಲಾದ ಬೇರೆ ಬೇರೆ ಆಕಾರಗಳಿಂದ ಬೇರ್ಪಟ್ಟು, ಅರಿಯುವವನು ಎಂಬ ಒಂದೇ ಆಕಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲರಲ್ಲೂ ಸಮನಾಗಿರುವುದು, ತನ್ನ ದೇಹ ಇಂದ್ರಿಯ ಮನಸ್ಸುಗಳಿಗೆ ಅದೇ ‘ಪರಮೇಶ್ವರ’. ದೇಹಗಳು ನಾಶವಾದರೂ ಅದು ನಾಶವಾಗದು. ಶ್ರೀಧರ ಸ್ವಾಮಿಗಳು ಇದನ್ನು ಅವಿವೇಕದಿಂದ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದ ಸಂಸಾರವನ್ನು ನಿವಾರಿಸುವ ಸಮ್ಯಗ್ದರ್ಶನ ಎನ್ನುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಮಧ್ವಾಚಾರ್ಯರ ವಿವರಣೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಮೂಲ ಪಠ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಶ್ಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ ಇಲ್ಲ.
According to Ramanuja what is to be seen here is the individual self: set apart from the varied forms of god and the rest, equal in all in its single form as knower, and ‘supreme lord’ of its own body, senses and mind. Though bodies perish, it does not. Sridhara Swami calls this the right vision that removes the worldly existence born of non-discrimination. Madhva’s comment on this verse is not in our source text.
ಆಧಾರ: ಹಲವು ಮೂಲಗಳು. ವ್ಯಾಖ್ಯಾನಕಾರರ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯ ಭಿನ್ನವಾಗಿರುವಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಡೂ ಅರ್ಥಗಳನ್ನು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೇವೆ.

ಇಂದಿನ ಬದುಕಿಗೆFor life today
‘ಸಮಂ ಸರ್ವೇಷು ಭೂತೇಷು’, ಎಲ್ಲರಲ್ಲೂ ಸಮನಾಗಿ. ಬಡವ ಬಲ್ಲಿದ, ಹಿರಿಯ ಕಿರಿಯ, ಯಾವ ಜಾತಿ ಧರ್ಮದವರೇ ಇರಲಿ, ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಯ ಹಾಸಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಸಮಾನ ಆರೈಕೆಗೆ ಅರ್ಹರು.
‘Samam sarveshu bhuteshu’, equally in all. Poor or rich, old or young, of whatever caste or faith, in a hospital bed everyone deserves equal care.
ದೇಹಗಳು ಬದಲಾಗುತ್ತವೆ, ಮುಪ್ಪಾಗುತ್ತವೆ, ಕಾಯಿಲೆ ಬೀಳುತ್ತವೆ. ಅವುಗಳ ನಡುವೆ ಬದಲಾಗದ್ದನ್ನು ಕಾಣುವ ಕಣ್ಣು ಬೆಳೆದರೆ, ವಯಸ್ಸಾದ ಹೆತ್ತವರಲ್ಲೂ ಮರೆವಿನ ಕಾಯಿಲೆಯ ರೋಗಿಯಲ್ಲೂ ಗೌರವ ಕಡಿಮೆಯಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
Bodies change, grow old, fall ill. When the eye that sees the unchanging among them grows, respect does not lessen even for ageing parents or for a patient with dementia.
