ಅಚ್ಯುತ, ಅನಂತ, ಗೋವಿಂದ ಎಂಬ ಮೂರು ಹೆಸರುಗಳನ್ನು ಉಚ್ಚರಿಸುವುದೇ ಔಷಧ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುವ ಶ್ಲೋಕ ಇದು. ಮಾತ್ರೆ ಅಥವಾ ಕಷಾಯ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವಾಗ ಇದನ್ನು ಹೇಳುವ ರೂಢಿ ಅನೇಕ ಮನೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿದೆ.
ನಂಬಿಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ಒಂದೇ ತಟ್ಟೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ನಮ್ಮ ಮನೆಗಳ ಈ ರೂಢಿ ಬಹಳ ಹಳೆಯದು.
ಶ್ಲೋಕ (ಕನ್ನಡ)
ಅಚ್ಯುತಾನಂತ ಗೋವಿಂದ ನಾಮೋಚ್ಚಾರಣಭೇಷಜಾತ್ ।
ನಶ್ಯಂತಿ ಸಕಲಾ ರೋಗಾಃ ಸತ್ಯಂ ಸತ್ಯಂ ವದಾಮ್ಯಹಮ್ ॥
ಶ್ಲೋಕ (ದೇವನಾಗರಿ)
अच्युतानन्त गोविन्द नामोच्चारणभेषजात् ।
नश्यन्ति सकला रोगाः सत्यं सत्यं वदाम्यहम् ॥
ಶ್ಲೋಕ (IAST)
acyutānanta govinda nāmoccāraṇabheṣajāt |
naśyanti sakalā rogāḥ satyaṃ satyaṃ vadāmyaham ||
ಪದಶಃ ಅರ್ಥ
- ಅಚ್ಯುತ (अच्युत, acyuta) = ಎಂದೂ ಜಾರದವನು (the one who never falls)
- ಅನಂತ (अनन्त, ananta) = ಕೊನೆಯಿಲ್ಲದವನು (the endless one)
- ಗೋವಿಂದ (गोविन्द, govinda) = ಗೋವಿಂದ (Govinda)
- ನಾಮೋಚ್ಚಾರಣಭೇಷಜಾತ್ (नामोच्चारणभेषजात्, nāmoccāraṇabheṣajāt) = ಹೆಸರು ಹೇಳುವುದೆಂಬ ಔಷಧದಿಂದ (by the medicine of uttering these names)
- ನಶ್ಯಂತಿ (नश्यन्ति, naśyanti) = ನಾಶವಾಗುತ್ತವೆ (are destroyed)
- ಸಕಲಾಃ ರೋಗಾಃ (सकलाः रोगाः, sakalāḥ rogāḥ) = ಎಲ್ಲ ರೋಗಗಳು (all diseases)
- ಸತ್ಯಂ ಸತ್ಯಂ ವದಾಮಿ ಅಹಮ್ (सत्यं सत्यं वदामि अहम्, satyaṃ satyaṃ vadāmi aham) = ಸತ್ಯ, ಸತ್ಯ ಎಂದು ನಾನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ (I say it is true, it is true)
ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಅರ್ಥ (ಕನ್ನಡ)

ಈ ಶ್ಲೋಕದ ಬಗ್ಗೆAbout this verse
ಈ ಶ್ಲೋಕವನ್ನು ಪದ್ಮಪುರಾಣ ಮುಂತಾದ ಗ್ರಂಥಗಳಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿದ್ದೆಂದು ಹೇಳುವುದುಂಟು, ಆದರೆ ಖಚಿತವಾದ ಮೂಲವನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸುವುದು ಕಷ್ಟ. ಪರಂಪರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಮೂರು ಹೆಸರುಗಳನ್ನು ನಾಮತ್ರಯ ಎಂದು ಕರೆದು ಅವುಗಳ ಜಪಕ್ಕೆ ವಿಶೇಷ ಮಹತ್ವ ಕೊಡುತ್ತಾರೆ.
The verse is sometimes said to come from the Padma Purana and similar texts, but it is hard to point to a definite source. Tradition calls these three names the namatraya and gives their chanting special importance.
ಇಲ್ಲಿ ರೋಗ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ದೇಹದ ಕಾಯಿಲೆಯ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಹುಟ್ಟುಸಾವಿನ ಚಕ್ರವೆಂಬ ಭವರೋಗ ಎಂದೂ ವ್ಯಾಖ್ಯಾನಕಾರರು ಓದುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆ ಕಾಯಿಲೆಯ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮನಸ್ಸಿಗೆ ಆಸರೆ ಕೊಡುತ್ತದೆ, ಆದರೆ ಅದು ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಯ ಬದಲಲ್ಲ.
Commentators read roga, disease, not only as bodily illness but also as the disease of worldly existence, the cycle of birth and death. Prayer gives the mind support in days of illness, but it does not replace medical treatment.
ಇದೇ ಶ್ಲೋಕ ಆಪದುದ್ಧಾರಕ ರಾಮ ಸ್ತೋತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಏಳನೆಯ ಶ್ಲೋಕವಾಗಿ ಬರುತ್ತದೆ. ಆ ಸ್ತೋತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಅರ್ಥಸಹಿತ ಬೇರೆ ಪುಟ ಈ ತಾಣದಲ್ಲಿದೆ.

ಔಷಧದ ಗುಳಿಗೆಯ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಒಂದು ಶ್ಲೋಕ ಹೇಳುವ ಅಜ್ಜಿಯರ ರೂಢಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಸೂಕ್ಷ್ಮ ಸಂಗತಿ ಇದೆ. ಔಷಧವನ್ನು ಸಮಯಕ್ಕೆ ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ, ನಂಬಿಕೆಯಿಂದ, ತಪ್ಪದೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದು ಅದರ ಪರಿಣಾಮಕ್ಕೆ ಬಹಳ ಮುಖ್ಯ. ಈ ಶ್ಲೋಕ ಆ ಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ಒಂದು ನೆನಪಿನ ಗಂಟಿನಂತೆಯೂ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಬಹುದು.
There is something subtle in the grandmothers’ habit of saying a verse with each pill. Taking medicine on time, with trust and without missing a dose matters a great deal to how well it works. This verse can work as a knot of memory for that routine too.
