ಸಾಧಿಭೂತಾಧಿದೈವಂ ಮಾಂ ಸಾಧಿಯಜ್ಞಂ ಚ ಯೇ ವಿದುಃ।
ಪ್ರಯಾಣಕಾಲೇಽಪಿ ಚ ಮಾಂ ತೇ ವಿದುರ್ಯುಕ್ತಚೇತಸಃ ॥ 30 ॥

साधिभूताधिदैवं मां साधियज्ञं च ये विदुः।
प्रयाणकालेऽपि च मां ते विदुर्युक्तचेतसः ॥ 30 ॥

ಪದಶಃ ಅರ್ಥ
- ಯೇ ಮಾಂ ಸಾಧಿಭೂತಾಧಿದೈವಂ ಸಾಧಿಯಜ್ಞಂ ಚ ವಿದುಃ (ये मां साधिभूताधिदैवं साधियज्ञं च विदुः, ye māṃ sādhibhūtādhidaivaṃ sādhiyajñaṃ ca viduḥ) = ಯಾರು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಅಧಿಭೂತ, ಅಧಿದೈವ, ಅಧಿಯಜ್ಞಗಳ ಸಹಿತ ತಿಳಿಯುತ್ತಾರೋ (those who know me along with the adhibhuta, the adhidaiva and the adhiyajna)
- ತೇ ಯುಕ್ತಚೇತಸಃ (ते युक्तचेतसः, te yuktacetasaḥ) = ಯುಕ್ತಚಿತ್ತರಾದ ಅವರು (they, with minds steadfast)
- ಪ್ರಯಾಣಕಾಲೇ ಅಪಿ ಚ ಮಾಂ ವಿದುಃ (प्रयाणकाले अपि च मां विदुः, prayāṇakāle api ca māṃ viduḥ) = ಹೊರಡುವ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಯುತ್ತಾರೆ (know me even at the time of departure)

ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಅಧಿಭೂತ, ಅಧಿದೈವ ಮತ್ತು ಅಧಿಯಜ್ಞಗಳ ಸಹಿತ ತಿಳಿಯುವವರು ಯುಕ್ತಚಿತ್ತರಾಗಿ, ಈ ಲೋಕದಿಂದ ಹೊರಡುವ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಯುತ್ತಾರೆ.
ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಅರ್ಥ (ಇಂಗ್ಲಿಷ್)
Those who know me together with the adhibhuta, the adhidaiva and the adhiyajna, their minds steadfast, know me even at the time of departure from this world.

ಅಧ್ಯಾಯ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂರು ಹೊಸ ಪದಗಳನ್ನು ವಿವರಿಸದೆ ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಮುಗಿಯುತ್ತದೆ: ಅಧಿಭೂತ, ಅಧಿದೈವ, ಅಧಿಯಜ್ಞ. ಅದಕ್ಕೇ ಎಂಟನೆಯ ಅಧ್ಯಾಯ ‘ಕಿಂ ತದ್ಬ್ರಹ್ಮ’, ಆ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮ ಯಾವುದು ಎಂಬ ಅರ್ಜುನನ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಯಿಂದ ಶುರುವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.
The chapter ends leaving three new words unexplained: adhibhuta, adhidaiva and adhiyajna. That is why the eighth chapter opens with Arjuna’s question, ‘kim tad brahma’, what is that Brahman?
‘ಪ್ರಯಾಣಕಾಲ’, ಹೊರಡುವ ಸಮಯ ಎಂದರೆ ಸಾವಿನ ಸಮಯ. ಶಂಕರಾಚಾರ್ಯರು ಅದನ್ನು ‘ಮರಣಕಾಲ’ ಎಂದೇ ಬಿಡಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಈ ಪದವೇ ಮುಂದಿನ ಅಧ್ಯಾಯದ ಮುಖ್ಯ ವಿಷಯವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.
‘Prayanakala’, the time of departure, means the time of death. Shankara glosses it plainly as ‘maranakala’. This word becomes the main subject of the next chapter.
ರಾಮಾನುಜಾಚಾರ್ಯರು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ‘ಯೇ’ ಎಂಬ ಪದ ಮತ್ತೆ ಬಂದಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಇವರು ಹಿಂದಿನ ಶ್ಲೋಕದವರಿಗಿಂತ ಬೇರೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು, ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಬಯಸುವವರು ಎಂದು ಅರ್ಥಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ‘ಅಧಿಯಜ್ಞ’ವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಯುವುದು ಮಾತ್ರ ಮೂವರಿಗೂ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ, ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನಿತ್ಯ ನೈಮಿತ್ತಿಕ ಯಜ್ಞಗಳು ಯಾರಿಗೂ ಬಿಡಲಾಗದವು. ಸಾವಿನ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬರೂ ತಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮ ಗುರಿಗೆ ತಕ್ಕಂತೆ ಭಗವಂತನನ್ನು ನೆನೆಯುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಮಧ್ವಾಚಾರ್ಯರ ವಿವರಣೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಮೂಲ ಪಠ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಶ್ಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ ಇಲ್ಲ.
Because the word ‘ye’, those who, is repeated, Ramanuja takes these to be a different kind of seeker from those of the last verse: those who want prosperity. Knowing the adhiyajna alone is common to all three, since no one can give up the daily and occasional sacrifices. At the time of death, each remembers the Lord in keeping with his own goal. Madhva’s comment on this verse is not in our source text.

ಇಂದಿನ ಬದುಕಿಗೆFor life today
ಸಾವಿನ ಕ್ಷಣದ ಮಾತು ಅಧ್ಯಾಯದ ಕೊನೆಯ ಸಾಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದಕ್ಕಿದ್ದಂತೆ ಬರುತ್ತದೆ. ಬದುಕಿನಲ್ಲೂ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ: ಆ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆ ಯಾವಾಗ ಎದುರಾಗುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ಯಾರಿಗೂ ಗೊತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ.
The moment of death arrives suddenly in the last line of the chapter. So it is in life: no one knows when that question will come.
ಅನೇಕ ಕುಟುಂಬಗಳು ಕೊನೆಯ ದಿನಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡುವುದನ್ನೇ ತಪ್ಪಿಸುತ್ತವೆ. ಆರೋಗ್ಯವಿರುವಾಗಲೇ ‘ಕೊನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನನಗೆ ಏನು ಬೇಕು, ಏನು ಬೇಡ’ ಎಂದು ಆಪ್ತರ ಜೊತೆ ಮಾತನಾಡಿಟ್ಟರೆ, ಆ ಕ್ಷಣ ಬಂದಾಗ ಅವರ ಮೇಲಿನ ಭಾರ ಬಹಳ ಕಡಿಮೆಯಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.
Many families avoid talking about the last days at all. If, while still in good health, we tell those close to us what we would and would not want at the end, the burden on them when that moment comes is much lighter.
