ಬೀಜಂ ಮಾಂ ಸರ್ವಭೂತಾನಾಂ ವಿದ್ಧಿ ಪಾರ್ಥ ಸನಾತನಮ್।
ಬುದ್ಧಿರ್ಬುದ್ಧಿಮತಾಮಸ್ಮಿ ತೇಜಸ್ತೇಜಸ್ವಿನಾಮಹಮ್ ॥ 10 ॥
ಶ್ಲೋಕ (ದೇವನಾಗರಿ)
बीजं मां सर्वभूतानां विद्धि पार्थ सनातनम्।
बुद्धिर्बुद्धिमतामस्मि तेजस्तेजस्विनामहम् ॥ 10 ॥

ಪದಶಃ ಅರ್ಥ
- ಪಾರ್ಥ (पार्थ, pārtha) = ಪಾರ್ಥನೇ (O Partha)
- ಮಾಂ ಸರ್ವಭೂತಾನಾಂ ಸನಾತನಂ ಬೀಜಂ ವಿದ್ಧಿ (मां सर्वभूतानां सनातनं बीजं विद्धि, māṃ sarvabhūtānāṃ sanātanaṃ bījaṃ viddhi) = ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಎಲ್ಲ ಜೀವಿಗಳ ಸನಾತನ ಬೀಜವೆಂದು ತಿಳಿ (know me as the eternal seed of all beings)
- ಬುದ್ಧಿಮತಾಂ ಬುದ್ಧಿಃ ಅಸ್ಮಿ (बुद्धिमतां बुद्धिः अस्मि, buddhimatāṃ buddhiḥ asmi) = ಬುದ್ಧಿವಂತರ ಬುದ್ಧಿ ನಾನು (I am the intelligence of the intelligent)

ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಅರ್ಥ (ಕನ್ನಡ)
ಪಾರ್ಥ, ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಎಲ್ಲ ಜೀವಿಗಳ ಸನಾತನ ಬೀಜವೆಂದು ತಿಳಿ. ಬುದ್ಧಿವಂತರ ಬುದ್ಧಿ ನಾನು, ತೇಜಸ್ವಿಗಳ ತೇಜಸ್ಸು ನಾನು.
ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಅರ್ಥ (ಇಂಗ್ಲಿಷ್)
Know me, O Partha, as the eternal seed of all beings. I am the intelligence of the intelligent and the brilliance of the brilliant.
ಶ್ಲೋಕ 7.10ರ ವಿವರಣೆContext and commentary on verse 7.10
ಬೀಜದ ಚಿತ್ರ ಹುಟ್ಟಿನ ಕಾರಣವನ್ನು ಸೂಚಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಶಂಕರಾಚಾರ್ಯರು ‘ಬೀಜ’ಕ್ಕೆ ‘ಪ್ರರೋಹಕಾರಣ’, ಮೊಳಕೆಯೊಡೆಯುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರಣ ಎಂದು ಅರ್ಥ ಕೊಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ‘ಸನಾತನ’ ಎಂದರೆ ಚಿರಂತನ. ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಬೀಜ ಮೊಳಕೆಯೊಡೆದ ಮೇಲೆ ತಾನು ಇಲ್ಲವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ, ಈ ಬೀಜ ಹಾಗಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಹಲವರು ಈ ವಿಶೇಷಣವನ್ನು ಅರ್ಥಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆ.
The image of the seed points to the cause of birth. Shankara glosses ‘bija’ as ‘prarohakarana’, the cause of sprouting. ‘Sanatana’ means everlasting. Many take the adjective this way: an ordinary seed is used up once it sprouts, but this seed is not.
ಶಂಕರಾಚಾರ್ಯರಿಗೆ ‘ಬುದ್ಧಿ’ ಎಂದರೆ ಅಂತಃಕರಣದ ವಿವೇಕಶಕ್ತಿ, ಸರಿ ತಪ್ಪುಗಳನ್ನು ಬೇರ್ಪಡಿಸುವ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯ. ‘ತೇಜಸ್’ ಎಂದರೆ ಪ್ರಾಗಲ್ಭ್ಯ, ಧೈರ್ಯದಿಂದ ಮುನ್ನುಗ್ಗುವ ಪ್ರಭಾವ.
For Shankara ‘buddhi’ is the mind’s power of discrimination, the ability to tell right from wrong. ‘Tejas’ is boldness, the force that goes forward with confidence.
ರಾಮಾನುಜಾಚಾರ್ಯರು ಎಂಟನೆಯ ಶ್ಲೋಕದ ವಿವರಣೆಯನ್ನೇ ಇಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಅನ್ವಯಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ: ಇವೆಲ್ಲ ಭಗವಂತನಿಂದ ಹುಟ್ಟಿ ಅವನ ಶರೀರವಾಗಿ ಅವನಲ್ಲೇ ಇರುವ ಭಾವಗಳು. ಮಧ್ವಾಚಾರ್ಯರು ಎಂಟರಿಂದ ಹನ್ನೆರಡರವರೆಗಿನ ಶ್ಲೋಕಗಳಿಗೆ ಒಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ವಿವರಣೆ ಕೊಡುತ್ತಾರೆ, ಅದರ ಸಾರ ಎಂಟನೆಯ ಶ್ಲೋಕದ ಪುಟದಲ್ಲಿದೆ.
Ramanuja applies his explanation of the eighth verse here too: these are all states born of the Lord that abide in him as his body. Madhva comments on verses eight to twelve together, and the gist of it is on the page for the eighth verse.

ಇಂದಿನ ಬದುಕಿಗೆFor life today
ಬುದ್ಧಿವಂತಿಕೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಸ್ವಂತ ಸಂಪಾದನೆ ಎಂದು ನಾವು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇವೆ. ಆದರೆ ತೀವ್ರ ಜ್ವರ, ರಕ್ತದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಳಿದ ಸಕ್ಕರೆ ಅಥವಾ ಒಂದು ಸಣ್ಣ ಸ್ಟ್ರೋಕ್ ಆ ಬುದ್ಧಿಯನ್ನು ಗಂಟೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮಸುಕಾಗಿಸಬಲ್ಲದು.
We think of our intelligence as something we earned ourselves. But a high fever, a drop in blood sugar or a small stroke can cloud that intelligence within hours.
‘ಬುದ್ಧಿವಂತರ ಬುದ್ಧಿ ನಾನು’ ಎಂಬ ಮಾತು ಆ ಕೊಡುಗೆಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ವಿನಯ ತರುತ್ತದೆ. ತಮ್ಮ ಬುದ್ಧಿ ತಮಗೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿರುವ ಕೊಡುಗೆ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿದವರು ಅದನ್ನು ಇತರರನ್ನು ಕೀಳಾಗಿ ಕಾಣಲು ಬಳಸುವ ಸಾಧ್ಯತೆ ಕಡಿಮೆ.
‘I am the intelligence of the intelligent’ brings humility about that gift. Those who see their intelligence as something given to them are less likely to use it to look down on others.
