Context and commentary on verse 10.37
Here the list comes to the very chariot of that moment. Shankara says it directly: among the Yadavas, Vasudeva, the one standing here as your friend. Among the Pandavas, Dhananjaya, you yourself. Sridhara Swami says the same: I am the Vasudeva who is teaching you, and you are my glory. Krishna calls Arjuna, the listener himself, his glory. For Shankara a ‘kavi’ is one who sees beyond. For Sridhara Swami Ushanas is Shukracharya.
Ramanuja says here what he said about Rama at verse thirty-one: since Vasudeva is the Lord himself, the glory meant here is being the son of Vasudeva. Madhva explains the name ‘Vasudeva’: the one who covers everything and dwells in everything. For him ‘Vyasa’ means the one who is present everywhere, distinct from all.

For life today
‘Among the Pandavas I am Dhananjaya’: Krishna says this to Arjuna himself. The words ‘I am in you too’ give great courage to the one who hears them.
Telling people the good we see in them is a great gift. To a disheartened student, or a patient worn out by treatment, the words ‘you have this strength’ can bring fresh heart.
