ಆದಿತ್ಯಾನಾಮಹಂ ವಿಷ್ಣುರ್ಜ್ಯೋತಿಷಾಂ ರವಿರಂಶುಮಾನ್।

आदित्यानामहं विष्णुर्ज्योतिषां रविरंशुमान्।
मरीचिर्मरुतामस्मि नक्षत्राणामहं शशी ॥ 21 ॥

ಪದಶಃ ಅರ್ಥ
- ಆದಿತ್ಯಾನಾಮ್ ಅಹಂ ವಿಷ್ಣುಃ (आदित्यानाम् अहं विष्णुः, ādityānām ahaṃ viṣṇuḥ) = ಆದಿತ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನು ವಿಷ್ಣು (among the Adityas I am Vishnu)
- ಜ್ಯೋತಿಷಾಮ್ ಅಂಶುಮಾನ್ ರವಿಃ (ज्योतिषाम् अंशुमान् रविः, jyotiṣām aṃśumān raviḥ) = ಬೆಳಕುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕಿರಣಗಳಿಂದ ಹೊಳೆಯುವ ಸೂರ್ಯ (among lights the radiant sun)

ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಅರ್ಥ (ಇಂಗ್ಲಿಷ್)
Among the Adityas I am Vishnu, among lights the radiant sun. Among the Maruts I am Marichi, among the stars I am the moon.
ಶ್ಲೋಕ 10.21ರ ವಿವರಣೆContext and commentary on verse 10.21
ಇಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಅಧ್ಯಾಯದ ಕೊನೆಯವರೆಗೆ ವಿಭೂತಿಗಳ ಪಟ್ಟಿ. ರಚನೆ ಸರಳ: ಪ್ರತಿ ವರ್ಗದ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ ವಸ್ತು ನಾನು. ಆದಿತ್ಯರು ಹನ್ನೆರಡು ಮಂದಿ, ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಷ್ಣು ಎಂಬ ಆದಿತ್ಯ. ಶ್ರೀಧರ ಸ್ವಾಮಿಗಳು ಈ ವಿಷ್ಣುವನ್ನು ವಾಮನ ಎಂದು ಗುರುತಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಮರುತ್ತುಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಅವರು ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಅರ್ಥವನ್ನೂ ಕೊಡುತ್ತಾರೆ: ಆವಹ, ಪ್ರವಹ ಮೊದಲಾದ ಏಳು ವಾಯುಗಳು.
From here to the end of the chapter comes the list of glories. Its pattern is simple: I am the finest of each kind. The Adityas are twelve, and among them is the Aditya called Vishnu. Sridhara Swami identifies this Vishnu as Vamana. For the Maruts he also gives another sense: the seven winds, Avaha, Pravaha and the rest.
ರಾಮಾನುಜಾಚಾರ್ಯರು ಒಂದು ವ್ಯಾಕರಣದ ಸೂಕ್ಷ್ಮವನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ‘ನಕ್ಷತ್ರಾಣಾಮಹಂ ಶಶೀ’ ಎಂಬಲ್ಲಿನ ಷಷ್ಠೀ ವಿಭಕ್ತಿ ‘ನಕ್ಷತ್ರಗಳ ನಡುವೆ’ ಎಂಬ ಅರ್ಥದ್ದಲ್ಲ ಎನ್ನುತ್ತಾರೆ: ಚಂದ್ರ ನಕ್ಷತ್ರಗಳ ಒಡೆಯ. ಮುಂದಿನ ಶ್ಲೋಕದ ‘ಭೂತಾನಾಮಸ್ಮಿ ಚೇತನಾ’ ಕೂಡ ಹೀಗೆಯೇ. ಮಧ್ವಾಚಾರ್ಯರು ‘ವಿಷ್ಣು’ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಬಿಡಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ: ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ವ್ಯಾಪಿಸುವವನು, ಎಲ್ಲದರೊಳಗೆ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸುವವನು. ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವರು ಮಹಾಭಾರತದ ಮೋಕ್ಷಧರ್ಮದ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಉದ್ಧರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.
Ramanuja notes a fine point of grammar. In ‘nakshatranam aham shashi’ the genitive, he says, does not mean ‘among the stars’: the moon is the lord of the stars. The next verse’s ‘bhutanam asmi chetana’ is the same. Madhva explains the name ‘Vishnu’: the one who pervades everything and enters into everything. For this he quotes a passage from the Mokshadharma section of the Mahabharata.
ಆಧಾರ: ಹಲವು ಮೂಲಗಳು. ವ್ಯಾಖ್ಯಾನಕಾರರ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯ ಭಿನ್ನವಾಗಿರುವಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಡೂ ಅರ್ಥಗಳನ್ನು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೇವೆ.

ಇಂದಿನ ಬದುಕಿಗೆFor life today
ಸೂರ್ಯನದು ಸ್ವಂತ ಬೆಳಕು, ಚಂದ್ರನದು ತಂಪಾದ ಪ್ರತಿಫಲಿತ ಬೆಳಕು. ಎರಡೂ ಅವನ ವಿಭೂತಿಗಳೇ. ಉರಿಯುವ ಉತ್ಸಾಹಕ್ಕೂ ತಂಪಾದ ಸಮಾಧಾನಕ್ಕೂ ಬದುಕಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಜಾಗವಿದೆ.
The sun’s light is its own, the moon’s a cool, reflected light. Both are his glories. Life has room for burning enthusiasm and for cool calm alike.
ಬೆಳಗಿನ ಎಳೆ ಬಿಸಿಲು ದೇಹಕ್ಕೆ ಹಿತ, ವಿಟಮಿನ್ ಡಿ ಗೆ ಸಹಾಯಕ. ಆದರೆ ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನದ ಕಡು ಬಿಸಿಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ದೀರ್ಘ ಕಾಲ ಇರುವುದು ಚರ್ಮಕ್ಕೆ ಹಾನಿ. ಸೂರ್ಯನನ್ನು ಗೌರವಿಸುವುದು ಎಂದರೆ ಅವನ ಶಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಅಳತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಳಸುವುದು.
Gentle morning sunlight is good for the body and helps with vitamin D. But long hours in the harsh midday sun harm the skin. Honouring the sun means using its power in measure.
