ಶ್ಲೋಕ (ಕನ್ನಡ)
ಆಹುಸ್ತ್ವಾಮೃಷಯಃ ಸರ್ವೇ ದೇವರ್ಷಿರ್ನಾರದಸ್ತಥಾ।
ಅಸಿತೋ ದೇವಲೋ ವ್ಯಾಸಃ ಸ್ವಯಂ ಚೈವ ಬ್ರವೀಷಿ ಮೇ ॥ 13 ॥
ಶ್ಲೋಕ (ದೇವನಾಗರಿ)
आहुस्त्वामृषयः सर्वे देवर्षिर्नारदस्तथा।
असितो देवलो व्यासः स्वयं चैव ब्रवीषि मे ॥ 13 ॥
ಶ್ಲೋಕ (English IAST)
āhustvāmṛṣayaḥ sarve devarṣirnāradastathā|
asito devalo vyāsaḥ svayaṃ caiva bravīṣi me || 13 ||
ಪದಶಃ ಅರ್ಥ
- ಸರ್ವೇ ಋಷಯಃ ತ್ವಾಮ್ ಆಹುಃ (सर्वे ऋषयः त्वाम् आहुः, sarve ṛṣayaḥ tvām āhuḥ) = ಎಲ್ಲ ಋಷಿಗಳೂ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ (all the sages speak of you thus)
- ತಥಾ ದೇವರ್ಷಿಃ ನಾರದಃ (तथा देवर्षिः नारदः, tathā devarṣiḥ nāradaḥ) = ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ದೇವರ್ಷಿ ನಾರದ (so does the divine sage Narada)
- ಅಸಿತಃ ದೇವಲಃ ವ್ಯಾಸಃ (असितः देवलः व्यासः, asitaḥ devalaḥ vyāsaḥ) = ಅಸಿತ, ದೇವಲ, ವ್ಯಾಸ (Asita, Devala and Vyasa)
- ಸ್ವಯಂ ಚ ಏವ ಮೇ ಬ್ರವೀಷಿ (स्वयं च एव मे ब्रवीषि, svayaṃ ca eva me bravīṣi) = ನೀನೇ ಸ್ವತಃ ನನಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದೀಯೆ (and you yourself tell me so)
ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಅರ್ಥ (ಕನ್ನಡ)
ಎಲ್ಲ ಋಷಿಗಳೂ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಹಾಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ, ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ದೇವರ್ಷಿ ನಾರದ, ಅಸಿತ, ದೇವಲ, ವ್ಯಾಸರೂ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ. ನೀನೇ ಸ್ವತಃ ನನಗೂ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದೀಯೆ.
ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಅರ್ಥ (ಇಂಗ್ಲಿಷ್)
All the sages speak of you so, and so do the divine sage Narada, Asita, Devala and Vyasa. And you yourself tell me the same.
ಶ್ಲೋಕ 10.13ರ ವಿವರಣೆContext and commentary on verse 10.13
ಇದು ಅರ್ಜುನನ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಗಳ ಪಟ್ಟಿ. ಶಂಕರಾಚಾರ್ಯರಿಗೆ ‘ಎಲ್ಲ ಋಷಿಗಳು’ ವಸಿಷ್ಠ ಮೊದಲಾದವರು, ಶ್ರೀಧರ ಸ್ವಾಮಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಭೃಗು ಮೊದಲಾದವರು. ‘ಅಸಿತೋ ದೇವಲಃ’ ಶಂಕರಾಚಾರ್ಯರ ಮಾತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನೇ ಋಷಿ, ಅಸಿತ ದೇವಲ. ಶ್ರೀಧರ ಸ್ವಾಮಿಗಳು ಇಬ್ಬರನ್ನಾಗಿ ಬಿಡಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಗೀತೆಯನ್ನು ನಮಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟ ವ್ಯಾಸರ ಹೆಸರೇ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಾಗಿ ಬರುವುದು ಗಮನಾರ್ಹ.
This is Arjuna’s list of witnesses. For Shankara ‘all the sages’ are Vasishtha and the others, for Sridhara Swami Bhrigu and the others. In Shankara’s words ‘asito devalah’ is a single sage, Asita Devala. Sridhara Swami separates them into two. It is worth noticing that the name of Vyasa, who gave us the Gita, appears here as a witness.
ಕೊನೆಯ ಮಾತು ಮುಖ್ಯ: ‘ಸ್ವಯಂ ಚೈವ ಬ್ರವೀಷಿ ಮೇ’, ನೀನೇ ನನಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದೀಯೆ. ಋಷಿಗಳಿಂದ ಕೇಳಿದ್ದು ಈಗ ನೇರ ಅನುಭವವಾಗಿದೆ. ಶ್ರೀಧರ ಸ್ವಾಮಿಗಳು ‘ಸಾಕ್ಷಾತ್’, ನೇರವಾಗಿ, ಎಂಬ ಪದ ಸೇರಿಸಿ ಇದನ್ನೇ ಒತ್ತಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ. ರಾಮಾನುಜಾಚಾರ್ಯರೂ ಮಧ್ವಾಚಾರ್ಯರೂ ಈ ಶ್ಲೋಕವನ್ನು ಹಿಂದಿನದರ ಜೊತೆ ಸೇರಿಸಿ ಬಿಡಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.
The last words matter most: ‘svayam chaiva bravishi me’, you yourself are telling me. What was heard from the sages has now become direct experience. Sridhara Swami stresses this by adding the word ‘sakshat’, directly. Ramanuja and Madhva explain this verse together with the previous one.
ಆಧಾರ: ಹಲವು ಮೂಲಗಳು. ವ್ಯಾಖ್ಯಾನಕಾರರ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯ ಭಿನ್ನವಾಗಿರುವಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಡೂ ಅರ್ಥಗಳನ್ನು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೇವೆ.

ಇಂದಿನ ಬದುಕಿಗೆFor life today
ಕೇಳಿದ ಮಾತು ಬೇರೆ, ಕಂಡ ಅನುಭವ ಬೇರೆ. ಪುಸ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ ತಿಳಿದದ್ದು ಗುರುವಿನ ಮುಖದಿಂದ ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ ಜೀವ ಪಡೆಯುತ್ತದೆ.
What is heard from others is one thing, what is experienced is another. What we learned from a book comes alive when we hear it from the teacher’s own lips.
ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣದಲ್ಲೂ ಹೀಗೆಯೇ. ಪಠ್ಯಪುಸ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಂಡ ರೋಗಲಕ್ಷಣವನ್ನು ರೋಗಿಯ ಹಾಸಿಗೆಯ ಬಳಿ ಹಿರಿಯರು ತೋರಿಸಿದಾಗ ಅದು ಮರೆಯಲಾಗದ ಪಾಠವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.
