ಶ್ರೀಭಗವಾನುವಾಚ
ಸುದುರ್ದರ್ಶಮಿದಂ ರೂಪಂ ದೃಷ್ಟವಾನಸಿ ಯನ್ಮಮ।
ದೇವಾ ಅಪ್ಯಸ್ಯ ರೂಪಸ್ಯ ನಿತ್ಯಂ ದರ್ಶನಕಾಂಕ್ಷಿಣಃ ॥ 52 ॥

सुदुर्दर्शमिदं रूपं दृष्टवानसि यन्मम।
देवा अप्यस्य रूपस्य नित्यं दर्शनकाङ्क्षिणः ॥ 52 ॥
ಶ್ಲೋಕ (English IAST)

sudurdarśamidaṃ rūpaṃ dṛṣṭavānasi yanmama|
devā apyasya rūpasya nityaṃ darśanakāṅkṣiṇaḥ || 52 ||
ಪದಶಃ ಅರ್ಥ
- ಶ್ರೀಭಗವಾನ್ ಉವಾಚ (श्रीभगवान् उवाच, śrībhagavān uvāca) = ಶ್ರೀಭಗವಂತನು ಹೇಳಿದನು (the Blessed Lord said)
- ಮಮ ಯತ್ ಇದಂ ರೂಪಂ ದೃಷ್ಟವಾನ್ ಅಸಿ (मम यत् इदं रूपं दृष्टवान् असि, mama yat idaṃ rūpaṃ dṛṣṭavān asi) = ನನ್ನ ಯಾವ ಈ ರೂಪವನ್ನು ನೀನು ಕಂಡೆಯೋ (this form of mine that you have seen)
- ಸುದುರ್ದರ್ಶಮ್ (सुदुर्दर्शम्, sudurdarśam) = ಕಾಣಲು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಕಷ್ಟವಾದದ್ದು (is exceedingly hard to see)
- ದೇವಾಃ ಅಪಿ ಅಸ್ಯ ರೂಪಸ್ಯ (देवाः अपि अस्य रूपस्य, devāḥ api asya rūpasya) = ದೇವತೆಗಳೂ ಈ ರೂಪದ (even the gods, of this form)
- ನಿತ್ಯಂ ದರ್ಶನಕಾಂಕ್ಷಿಣಃ (नित्यं दर्शनकाङ्क्षिणः, nityaṃ darśanakāṅkṣiṇaḥ) = ದರ್ಶನವನ್ನು ಸದಾ ಬಯಸುತ್ತಾರೆ (ever long for a sight)
ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಅರ್ಥ (ಕನ್ನಡ)
ಶ್ರೀಭಗವಂತನು ಹೇಳಿದನು: ನೀನು ಕಂಡ ನನ್ನ ಈ ರೂಪ ಕಾಣಲು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಕಷ್ಟವಾದದ್ದು. ದೇವತೆಗಳೂ ಈ ರೂಪದ ದರ್ಶನವನ್ನು ಸದಾ ಬಯಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.
ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಅರ್ಥ (ಇಂಗ್ಲಿಷ್)
The Blessed Lord said: This form of mine that you have seen is exceedingly hard to see. Even the gods ever long for a sight of this form.
ಶ್ಲೋಕ 11.52ರ ವಿವರಣೆContext and commentary on verse 11.52
‘ಇದಂ ರೂಪಂ’, ಈ ರೂಪ, ಯಾವುದು? ಶ್ರೀಧರ ಸ್ವಾಮಿಗಳು ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ: ನೀನು ಕಂಡ ನನ್ನ ವಿಶ್ವರೂಪ. ರಾಮಾನುಜಾಚಾರ್ಯರೂ ಇದನ್ನು ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ಆಳುವ, ಎಲ್ಲಕ್ಕೂ ಆಶ್ರಯವಾದ, ಎಲ್ಲಕ್ಕೂ ಕಾರಣವಾದ ರೂಪ ಎನ್ನುತ್ತಾರೆ. ತಾನು ಮಾಡಿದ ಅನುಗ್ರಹ ಎಷ್ಟು ದುರ್ಲಭ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸಲೆಂದೇ ಕೃಷ್ಣ ಇದನ್ನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ ಎನ್ನುತ್ತಾರೆ ಶ್ರೀಧರ ಸ್ವಾಮಿಗಳು.
Which is ‘this form’? Sridhara Swami says it plainly: the cosmic form of mine that you saw. Ramanuja too calls it the form that rules all, supports all and is the cause of all. Sridhara Swami says Krishna speaks this to show how rare the grace he has given is.
ಶಂಕರಾಚಾರ್ಯರು ‘ದರ್ಶನಕಾಂಕ್ಷಿಣಃ’ ಮಾತಿಗೆ ಒಂದು ಸೂಕ್ಷ್ಮವನ್ನು ಸೇರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ: ದೇವತೆಗಳು ಇದನ್ನು ಸದಾ ಕಾಣಬಯಸುತ್ತಾರೆ, ಆದರೂ ನಿನ್ನಂತೆ ಕಂಡಿಲ್ಲ, ಮುಂದೆಯೂ ಕಾಣರು. ರಾಮಾನುಜಾಚಾರ್ಯರೂ ‘ಬಯಸುತ್ತಾರೆ, ಆದರೆ ಕಂಡಿಲ್ಲ’ ಎನ್ನುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಏಕೆ ಎಂಬುದಕ್ಕೆ ಉತ್ತರ ಮುಂದಿನ ಎರಡು ಶ್ಲೋಕಗಳಲ್ಲಿದೆ. ಮಧ್ವಾಚಾರ್ಯರ ವಿವರಣೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಮೂಲ ಪಠ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಶ್ಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ ಇಲ್ಲ.
Shankara adds a nuance to ‘longing for a sight’: the gods always wish to see it, yet they have not seen it as you have, nor will they. Ramanuja too says ‘they long for it, but have not seen it’. The answer to why is in the next two verses. Madhva’s comment on this verse is not in our source text.
ಆಧಾರ: ಹಲವು ಮೂಲಗಳು. ವ್ಯಾಖ್ಯಾನಕಾರರ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯ ಭಿನ್ನವಾಗಿರುವಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಡೂ ಅರ್ಥಗಳನ್ನು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೇವೆ.

ಇಂದಿನ ಬದುಕಿಗೆFor life today
ದೇವತೆಗಳೂ ಬಯಸುವುದನ್ನು ಅರ್ಜುನ ಕಂಡ, ಆದರೂ ಭಯದಿಂದ ಅದನ್ನು ಹಿಂದೆಗೆಯಲು ಕೇಳಿದ. ಅಪರೂಪದ ಅವಕಾಶ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿರುವಾಗ ಅದರ ಬೆಲೆ ತಿಳಿಯುವುದು ಕಷ್ಟ.
Arjuna saw what even the gods long for, and yet in fear he asked for it to be withdrawn. When a rare opportunity is in our hands, it is hard to know its worth.
ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಬಾಲ್ಯ, ಹಿರಿಯರ ಜೊತೆಯ ಕ್ಷಣಗಳು, ಆರೋಗ್ಯದ ದಿನಗಳು, ಇವು ನಮ್ಮ ಪಾಲಿನ ಅಪರೂಪದ ದರ್ಶನಗಳು. ಇರುವಾಗಲೇ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸೋಣ.
