ಶ್ರೀಭಗವಾನುವಾಚ
ಹಂತ ತೇ ಕಥಯಿಷ್ಯಾಮಿ ದಿವ್ಯಾ ಹ್ಯಾತ್ಮವಿಭೂತಯಃ।
ಪ್ರಾಧಾನ್ಯತಃ ಕುರುಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ ನಾಸ್ತ್ಯಂತೋ ವಿಸ್ತರಸ್ಯ ಮೇ ॥ 19 ॥

हन्त ते कथयिष्यामि दिव्या ह्यात्मविभूतयः।
प्राधान्यतः कुरुश्रेष्ठ नास्त्यन्तो विस्तरस्य मे ॥ 19 ॥

hanta te kathayiṣyāmi divyā hyātmavibhūtayaḥ|
prādhānyataḥ kuruśreṣṭha nāstyanto vistarasya me || 19 ||
ಪದಶಃ ಅರ್ಥ
- ಶ್ರೀಭಗವಾನ್ ಉವಾಚ (श्रीभगवान् उवाच, śrībhagavān uvāca) = ಶ್ರೀಭಗವಂತನು ಹೇಳಿದನು (the Blessed Lord said)
- ಹಂತ ಕುರುಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ (हन्त कुरुश्रेष्ठ, hanta kuruśreṣṭha) = ಆಗಲಿ ಕುರುಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠನೇ (very well, O best of the Kurus)
- ದಿವ್ಯಾಃ ಹಿ ಆತ್ಮವಿಭೂತಯಃ (दिव्याः हि आत्मविभूतयः, divyāḥ hi ātmavibhūtayaḥ) = ನನ್ನ ದಿವ್ಯ ವಿಭೂತಿಗಳನ್ನು (my divine glories)
- ತೇ ಪ್ರಾಧಾನ್ಯತಃ ಕಥಯಿಷ್ಯಾಮಿ (ते प्राधान्यतः कथयिष्यामि, te prādhānyataḥ kathayiṣyāmi) = ನಿನಗೆ ಮುಖ್ಯವಾದವುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ (I shall tell you by their chief ones)
- ಮೇ ವಿಸ್ತರಸ್ಯ ಅಂತಃ ನ ಅಸ್ತಿ (मे विस्तरस्य अन्तः न अस्ति, me vistarasya antaḥ na asti) = ನನ್ನ ವಿಸ್ತಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊನೆಯಿಲ್ಲ (there is no end to my extent)
ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಅರ್ಥ (ಕನ್ನಡ)
ಶ್ರೀಭಗವಂತನು ಹೇಳಿದನು: ಆಗಲಿ ಕುರುಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ, ನನ್ನ ದಿವ್ಯ ವಿಭೂತಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಖ್ಯವಾದವುಗಳನ್ನು ನಿನಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ. ನನ್ನ ವಿಸ್ತಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊನೆಯಿಲ್ಲ.
ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಅರ್ಥ (ಇಂಗ್ಲಿಷ್)
The Blessed Lord said: Very well, O best of the Kurus, I shall tell you the chief of my divine glories. There is no end to my extent.
ಶ್ಲೋಕ 10.19ರ ವಿವರಣೆContext and commentary on verse 10.19
‘ಹಂತ’ ಎಂಬ ಉದ್ಗಾರವನ್ನು ಶ್ರೀಧರ ಸ್ವಾಮಿಗಳು ಕರುಣೆಯ ಸಂಬೋಧನೆ ಎನ್ನುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಶಂಕರಾಚಾರ್ಯರು ‘ಪ್ರಾಧಾನ್ಯತಃ’ ಪದಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರಣ ಕೊಡುತ್ತಾರೆ: ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ಹೇಳಲು ನೂರು ವರ್ಷವೂ ಸಾಲದು, ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಎಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವ ವಿಭೂತಿ ಪ್ರಧಾನವೋ ಅದನ್ನು ಮಾತ್ರ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ.
Sridhara Swami calls the exclamation ‘hanta’ an address of compassion. Shankara gives the reason for the word ‘pradhanyatah’: a hundred years would not be enough to tell them all, and so I shall tell only whichever glory is foremost in each place.
ರಾಮಾನುಜಾಚಾರ್ಯರಿಗೆ ‘ಪ್ರಾಧಾನ್ಯ’ ಎಂದರೆ ಉತ್ಕರ್ಷ: ಜಗತ್ತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಉತ್ಕೃಷ್ಟವಾದ ಕೆಲವು. ಅವರು ‘ವಿಭೂತಿ’ಯ ಅರ್ಥವನ್ನೂ ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟಪಡಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ: ವಿಭೂತಿತ್ವ ಎಂದರೆ ಅವನ ನಿಯಮನಕ್ಕೆ ಒಳಪಟ್ಟಿರುವುದು. ಇಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಮುಂದಿನ ಪಟ್ಟಿಯನ್ನು ಈ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಿಂದ ನೋಡಬಹುದು: ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ವರ್ಗದ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ ವಸ್ತುವಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನ ಮಹಿಮೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟವಾಗಿ ಕಾಣುತ್ತದೆ. ಮಧ್ವಾಚಾರ್ಯರ ವಿವರಣೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಮೂಲ ಪಠ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಶ್ಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ ಇಲ್ಲ.
For Ramanuja ‘pradhanya’ means excellence: a few things that stand out in the world. He also makes the meaning of ‘vibhuti’ clear: to be a glory of his is to be subject to his governance. The list that follows can be read in this light: in the finest thing of each kind his greatness shows more clearly. Madhva’s comment on this verse is not in our source text.
ಆಧಾರ: ಹಲವು ಮೂಲಗಳು. ವ್ಯಾಖ್ಯಾನಕಾರರ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯ ಭಿನ್ನವಾಗಿರುವಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಡೂ ಅರ್ಥಗಳನ್ನು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೇವೆ.

ಇಂದಿನ ಬದುಕಿಗೆFor life today
‘ನನ್ನ ವಿಸ್ತಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊನೆಯಿಲ್ಲ’, ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಮುಖ್ಯವಾದವುಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾತ್ರ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕನ ಕಲೆಯೂ ಇದೇ: ಮುಖ್ಯವಾದುದನ್ನು ಆರಿಸಿ ಹೇಳುವುದು.
‘There is no end to my extent’, so I will tell only the chief ones. This is also the art of a good teacher: choosing what matters and telling that.
ರೋಗಿಗೆ ಸಲಹೆ ಕೊಡುವಾಗಲೂ ಹೀಗೆಯೇ. ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತು ಸೂಚನೆಗಳಿಗಿಂತ ನೆನಪಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಉಳಿಯುವ ಮೂರು ಮುಖ್ಯ ಸೂಚನೆಗಳು ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಫಲ ಕೊಡುತ್ತವೆ.
