ಶ್ಲೋಕ (ಕನ್ನಡ)
ವಾಯುರ್ಯಮೋಽಗ್ನಿರ್ವರುಣಃ ಶಶಾಂಕಃ ಪ್ರಜಾಪತಿಸ್ತ್ವಂ ಪ್ರಪಿತಾಮಹಶ್ಚ।
ನಮೋ ನಮಸ್ತೇಽಸ್ತು ಸಹಸ್ರಕೃತ್ವಃ ಪುನಶ್ಚ ಭೂಯೋಽಪಿ ನಮೋ ನಮಸ್ತೇ ॥ 39 ॥
ಶ್ಲೋಕ (ದೇವನಾಗರಿ)
वायुर्यमोऽग्निर्वरुणः शशाङ्कः प्रजापतिस्त्वं प्रपितामहश्च।
नमो नमस्तेऽस्तु सहस्रकृत्वः पुनश्च भूयोऽपि नमो नमस्ते ॥ 39 ॥

ಪದಶಃ ಅರ್ಥ
- ವಾಯುಃ ಯಮಃ ಅಗ್ನಿಃ ವರುಣಃ ಶಶಾಂಕಃ (वायुः यमः अग्निः वरुणः शशाङ्कः, vāyuḥ yamaḥ agniḥ varuṇaḥ śaśāṅkaḥ) = ವಾಯು, ಯಮ, ಅಗ್ನಿ, ವರುಣ, ಚಂದ್ರ (Vayu, Yama, Agni, Varuna and the moon)
- ಪ್ರಜಾಪತಿಃ ತ್ವಂ ಪ್ರಪಿತಾಮಹಃ ಚ (प्रजापतिः त्वं प्रपितामहः च, prajāpatiḥ tvaṃ prapitāmahaḥ ca) = ಪ್ರಜಾಪತಿಯೂ ಪ್ರಪಿತಾಮಹನೂ ನೀನೇ (you are Prajapati and the great-grandfather)

ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಅರ್ಥ (ಕನ್ನಡ)
ವಾಯು, ಯಮ, ಅಗ್ನಿ, ವರುಣ, ಚಂದ್ರ, ಪ್ರಜಾಪತಿ, ಪ್ರಪಿತಾಮಹ ಎಲ್ಲವೂ ನೀನೇ. ನಿನಗೆ ಸಾವಿರ ಸಲ ನಮಸ್ಕಾರ, ನಮಸ್ಕಾರ. ಮತ್ತೆಯೂ ಮತ್ತೆ ಮತ್ತೆಯೂ ನಿನಗೆ ನಮಸ್ಕಾರ, ನಮಸ್ಕಾರ.
ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಅರ್ಥ (ಇಂಗ್ಲಿಷ್)
You are Vayu, Yama, Agni, Varuna, the moon, Prajapati and the great-grandfather. Salutations, salutations to you a thousand times, and again and yet again salutations, salutations to you.
ಶ್ಲೋಕ 11.39ರ ವಿವರಣೆContext and commentary on verse 11.39
‘ಪ್ರಪಿತಾಮಹ’ ಎಂದರೆ ಮುತ್ತಜ್ಜ. ಶಂಕರಾಚಾರ್ಯರ ವಿವರಣೆ: ಪ್ರಜೆಗಳ ಪಿತಾಮಹನಾದ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮನಿಗೂ ತಂದೆ. ರಾಮಾನುಜಾಚಾರ್ಯರು ಇದನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಬಿಡಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ: ಪ್ರಜಾಪತಿಗಳು ಪ್ರಜೆಗಳ ತಂದೆ, ಹಿರಣ್ಯಗರ್ಭ ಪಿತಾಮಹ, ಹಿರಣ್ಯಗರ್ಭನಿಗೂ ತಂದೆಯಾದ ನೀನು ಪ್ರಪಿತಾಮಹ. ಪಿತಾಮಹ ಮೊದಲಾದವರ ಆತ್ಮವಾಗಿ ಆ ಪದಗಳೂ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನೇ ಸೂಚಿಸುತ್ತವೆ. ಶ್ರೀಧರ ಸ್ವಾಮಿಗಳ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ವಾಯು ಮೊದಲಾದ ಹೆಸರುಗಳು ಅವನು ಎಲ್ಲ ದೇವತೆಗಳ ಸ್ವರೂಪ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಸೂಚಿಸುತ್ತವೆ.
‘Prapitamaha’ means great-grandfather. Shankara’s explanation: father even of Brahma, the grandfather of creatures. Ramanuja unfolds it further: the Prajapatis are the fathers of creatures, Hiranyagarbha their grandfather, and you, the father even of Hiranyagarbha, are their great-grandfather. As the Self of the grandfather and the rest, those words too point to you. According to Sridhara Swami, names such as Vayu indicate that he is the very being of all the gods.
ನಮಸ್ಕಾರ ಮತ್ತೆ ಮತ್ತೆ. ಶಂಕರಾಚಾರ್ಯರು ವ್ಯಾಕರಣದ ಸೂಕ್ಷ್ಮವನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ: ‘ಸಹಸ್ರಕೃತ್ವಃ’ ಪದದ ಪ್ರತ್ಯಯ ಕ್ರಿಯೆಯ ಪುನರಾವೃತ್ತಿಯ ಎಣಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಸೂಚಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ರಾಮಾನುಜಾಚಾರ್ಯರು ಅರ್ಜುನನ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಚಿತ್ರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ: ಹರ್ಷದಿಂದ ಅರಳಿದ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳು, ಅತಿಯಾದ ವಿಸ್ಮಯದಿಂದ ಬಾಗಿದ ದೇಹ, ಎಲ್ಲ ದಿಕ್ಕುಗಳಿಗೂ ನಮಸ್ಕಾರ. ಮಧ್ವಾಚಾರ್ಯರು ಈ ಶ್ಲೋಕವನ್ನು ಹಿಂದಿನ ಗುಂಪಿನಲ್ಲೇ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆ.
Salutation again and again. Shankara notices a point of grammar: the suffix of ‘sahasrakritvah’ counts the repetition of the act. Ramanuja pictures Arjuna’s state: eyes blossoming with joy, body bent low in overwhelming awe, salutations in every direction. Madhva takes this verse within the preceding group.
ಆಧಾರ: ಹಲವು ಮೂಲಗಳು. ವ್ಯಾಖ್ಯಾನಕಾರರ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯ ಭಿನ್ನವಾಗಿರುವಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಡೂ ಅರ್ಥಗಳನ್ನು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೇವೆ.

ಇಂದಿನ ಬದುಕಿಗೆFor life today
ತುಂಬಿ ಬಂದಾಗ ಮಾತು ಮುಗಿದು ಪುನರಾವರ್ತನೆ ಉಳಿಯುತ್ತದೆ. ಮನೆಯವರು ಗುಣಮುಖರಾದಾಗ ವೈದ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಮತ್ತೆ ಮತ್ತೆ ‘ಧನ್ಯವಾದ’ ಹೇಳುವುದು ಇದೇ ಭಾವ.
When the heart is full, words run out and only repetition remains. Saying ‘thank you’ again and again to the doctors when a family member recovers is this same feeling.
ಜಪವೂ ಹೀಗೆಯೇ. ಒಂದೇ ನಾಮವನ್ನು ಮತ್ತೆ ಮತ್ತೆ ಹೇಳುವುದು ಮನಸ್ಸನ್ನು ಶಾಂತಗೊಳಿಸುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂಬುದು ಅನೇಕರ ಅನುಭವ.
