ಪಶ್ಯಾದಿತ್ಯಾನ್ವಸೂನ್ರುದ್ರಾನಶ್ವಿನೌ ಮರುತಸ್ತಥಾ।
ಬಹೂನ್ಯದೃಷ್ಟಪೂರ್ವಾಣಿ ಪಶ್ಯಾಶ್ಚರ್ಯಾಣಿ ಭಾರತ ॥ 6 ॥
ಶ್ಲೋಕ (ದೇವನಾಗರಿ)
पश्यादित्यान्वसून्रुद्रानश्विनौ मरुतस्तथा।
बहून्यदृष्टपूर्वाणि पश्याश्चर्याणि भारत ॥ 6 ॥

ಪದಶಃ ಅರ್ಥ
- ಭಾರತ (भारत, bhārata) = ಭಾರತನೇ (O Bharata)
- ಆದಿತ್ಯಾನ್ ವಸೂನ್ ರುದ್ರಾನ್ (आदित्यान् वसून् रुद्रान्, ādityān vasūn rudrān) = ಆದಿತ್ಯರನ್ನು, ವಸುಗಳನ್ನು, ರುದ್ರರನ್ನು (the Adityas, the Vasus, the Rudras)
- ಅಶ್ವಿನೌ ತಥಾ ಮರುತಃ ಪಶ್ಯ (अश्विनौ तथा मरुतः पश्य, aśvinau tathā marutaḥ paśya) = ಇಬ್ಬರು ಅಶ್ವಿನೀ ದೇವತೆಗಳನ್ನು, ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಮರುತ್ತುಗಳನ್ನು ನೋಡು (behold the two Ashvins and the Maruts too)

ಭಾರತ, ಆದಿತ್ಯರನ್ನು, ವಸುಗಳನ್ನು, ರುದ್ರರನ್ನು, ಅಶ್ವಿನೀ ದೇವತೆಗಳನ್ನು, ಮರುತ್ತುಗಳನ್ನು ನೋಡು. ಹಿಂದೆ ಕಾಣದ ಅನೇಕ ಅಚ್ಚರಿಗಳನ್ನು ನೋಡು.

Behold the Adityas, the Vasus, the Rudras, the two Ashvins and the Maruts. Behold, O Bharata, many wonders never seen before.

ಶಂಕರಾಚಾರ್ಯರು ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊಡುತ್ತಾರೆ: ಹನ್ನೆರಡು ಆದಿತ್ಯರು, ಎಂಟು ವಸುಗಳು, ಹನ್ನೊಂದು ರುದ್ರರು, ಇಬ್ಬರು ಅಶ್ವಿನೀ ದೇವತೆಗಳು, ಏಳು ಏಳರ ಗಣಗಳಾಗಿರುವ ಮರುತ್ತುಗಳು. ರಾಮಾನುಜಾಚಾರ್ಯರು ಮತ್ತು ಶ್ರೀಧರ ಸ್ವಾಮಿಗಳು ಮರುತ್ತುಗಳನ್ನು ನಲವತ್ತೊಂಬತ್ತು ಎಂದು ಎಣಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಹತ್ತನೆಯ ಅಧ್ಯಾಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಆದಿತ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಷ್ಣು, ರುದ್ರರಲ್ಲಿ ಶಂಕರ, ವಸುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾವಕ ಎಂದು ಒಬ್ಬೊಬ್ಬರನ್ನೇ ಹೆಸರಿಸಿದ್ದ ಕೃಷ್ಣ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಇಡೀ ಗಣಗಳನ್ನೇ ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.
Shankara gives the numbers: twelve Adityas, eight Vasus, eleven Rudras, the two Ashvins, and the Maruts in seven groups of seven. Ramanuja and Sridhara Swami count the Maruts as forty-nine. In the tenth chapter Krishna named only one of each, Vishnu among the Adityas, Shankara among the Rudras, Pavaka among the Vasus. Here he shows the whole companies.
‘ಅದೃಷ್ಟಪೂರ್ವ’ ಎಂದರೆ ಶಂಕರಾಚಾರ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಮನುಷ್ಯಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ನೀನಾಗಲಿ ಬೇರೆ ಯಾರಾಗಲಿ ಹಿಂದೆ ಕಂಡಿರದವು. ರಾಮಾನುಜಾಚಾರ್ಯರು ಇನ್ನೂ ಮುಂದೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಾರೆ: ಯಾವ ಲೋಕದಲ್ಲೂ ಯಾವ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರದಲ್ಲೂ ಹಿಂದೆ ಕಾಣದವು. ಮಧ್ವಾಚಾರ್ಯರ ವಿವರಣೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಮೂಲ ಪಠ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಶ್ಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ ಇಲ್ಲ.
‘Never seen before’ for Shankara means not seen earlier in the human world by you or by anyone else. Ramanuja goes further: not seen before in any world or in any scripture. Madhva’s comment on this verse is not in our source text.
ಆಧಾರ: ಹಲವು ಮೂಲಗಳು. ವ್ಯಾಖ್ಯಾನಕಾರರ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯ ಭಿನ್ನವಾಗಿರುವಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಡೂ ಅರ್ಥಗಳನ್ನು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೇವೆ.

ಇಂದಿನ ಬದುಕಿಗೆFor life today
ಹೊಸದನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸುವ ಮೊದಲು ಪರಿಚಿತ ಹೆಸರುಗಳಿಂದ ಆರಂಭ. ಕೃಷ್ಣ ಆದಿತ್ಯ, ವಸು, ರುದ್ರರಿಂದ ಆರಂಭಿಸಿ ‘ಹಿಂದೆ ಕಾಣದ’ ಅಚ್ಚರಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಕೊಂಡೊಯ್ಯುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕನ ಕ್ರಮವೂ ಇದೇ.
Before showing the new, he begins with familiar names. Krishna starts from the Adityas, Vasus and Rudras and leads on to wonders ‘never seen before’. A good teacher’s method is the same.
ಗೊತ್ತಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಗೊತ್ತಿಲ್ಲದ್ದಕ್ಕೆ ಸಾಗುವ ಈ ದಾರಿ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಕಲಿಸುವಾಗಲೂ ರೋಗಿಗೆ ಹೊಸ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಯನ್ನು ವಿವರಿಸುವಾಗಲೂ ನೆರವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.
