ಶ್ಲೋಕ (ಕನ್ನಡ)
ಸರ್ವಗುಹ್ಯತಮಂ ಭೂಯಃ ಶೃಣು ಮೇ ಪರಮಂ ವಚಃ।
ಇಷ್ಟೋಽಸಿ ಮೇ ದೃಢಮಿತಿ ತತೋ ವಕ್ಷ್ಯಾಮಿ ತೇ ಹಿತಮ್ ॥ 64 ॥
ಶ್ಲೋಕ (ದೇವನಾಗರಿ)
सर्वगुह्यतमं भूयः शृणु मे परमं वचः।
इष्टोऽसि मे दृढमिति ततो वक्ष्यामि ते हितम् ॥ 64 ॥
ಶ್ಲೋಕ (English IAST)
sarvaguhyatamaṃ bhūyaḥ śṛṇu me paramaṃ vacaḥ|
iṣṭo’si me dṛḍhamiti tato vakṣyāmi te hitam || 64 ||
ಪದಶಃ ಅರ್ಥ
- ಸರ್ವಗುಹ್ಯತಮಂ ಮೇ ಪರಮಂ ವಚಃ (सर्वगुह्यतमं मे परमं वचः, sarvaguhyatamaṃ me paramaṃ vacaḥ) = ಎಲ್ಲಕ್ಕಿಂತ ರಹಸ್ಯವಾದ ನನ್ನ ಪರಮ ಮಾತನ್ನು (my supreme word, the most secret of all)
- ಭೂಯಃ ಶೃಣು (भूयः शृणु, bhūyaḥ śṛṇu) = ಮತ್ತೊಮ್ಮೆ ಕೇಳು (hear once more)
- ಮೇ ದೃಢಮ್ ಇಷ್ಟಃ ಅಸಿ ಇತಿ (मे दृढम् इष्टः असि इति, me dṛḍham iṣṭaḥ asi iti) = ನೀನು ನನಗೆ ಬಹಳ ಪ್ರಿಯನು ಎಂದು (because you are dearly loved by me)
- ತತಃ ತೇ ಹಿತಂ ವಕ್ಷ್ಯಾಮಿ (ततः ते हितं वक्ष्यामि, tataḥ te hitaṃ vakṣyāmi) = ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ನಿನಗೆ ಹಿತವನ್ನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ (therefore I shall tell you what is for your good)
ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಅರ್ಥ (ಕನ್ನಡ)
ಎಲ್ಲಕ್ಕಿಂತ ರಹಸ್ಯವಾದ ನನ್ನ ಪರಮ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಮತ್ತೊಮ್ಮೆ ಕೇಳು. ನೀನು ನನಗೆ ಬಹಳ ಪ್ರಿಯನು, ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ನಿನಗೆ ಹಿತವಾದುದನ್ನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ.
ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಅರ್ಥ (ಇಂಗ್ಲಿಷ್)
Hear once more my supreme word, the most secret of all. You are dearly loved by me, therefore I shall tell you what is for your good.
ಶ್ಲೋಕ 18.64ರ ವಿವರಣೆContext and commentary on verse 18.64
‘ಯಥೇಚ್ಛಸಿ ತಥಾ ಕುರು’ ಎಂದ ಕೂಡಲೇ ಕೃಷ್ಣ ಮತ್ತೆ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ, ಪ್ರೀತಿಯಿಂದ. ಶ್ರೀಧರ ಸ್ವಾಮಿಗಳ ವಿವರಣೆ ಹೃದಯಸ್ಪರ್ಶಿ: ಅತಿ ಗಂಭೀರವಾದ ಗೀತಾಶಾಸ್ತ್ರವನ್ನು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಆಲೋಚಿಸಲಾಗದವನ ಮೇಲಿನ ಕರುಣೆಯಿಂದ ಭಗವಂತನೇ ಅದರ ಸಾರವನ್ನು ಮೂರು ಶ್ಲೋಕಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಗ್ರಹಿಸಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ.
No sooner has he said ‘do as you wish’ than Krishna speaks again, out of love. Sridhara Swami’s explanation is touching: out of compassion for one unable to reflect fully on the very deep teaching of the Gita, the Lord himself gathers its essence and tells it in three verses.
ಶಂಕರಾಚಾರ್ಯರು ಹೇಳುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶದ ಶುದ್ಧತೆಯನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ: ಭಯದಿಂದಲ್ಲ, ಹಣದ ಕಾರಣದಿಂದಲ್ಲ, ನೀನು ನನಗೆ ದೃಢವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಿಯನಾದ್ದರಿಂದ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ. ರಾಮಾನುಜಾಚಾರ್ಯರ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಎಲ್ಲ ರಹಸ್ಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಭಕ್ತಿಯೋಗ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠವಾದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅದೇ ‘ಗುಹ್ಯತಮ’, ಇದನ್ನು 9.1 ರಲ್ಲೇ ಹೇಳಿದೆ. ಮಧ್ವಾಚಾರ್ಯರ ವಿವರಣೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಮೂಲ ಪಠ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಶ್ಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ ಇಲ್ಲ.
Shankara notes the purity of the motive for speaking: not out of fear, not for the sake of money, but because you are firmly dear to me. According to Ramanuja, since bhakti yoga is the highest of all secrets, it is the ‘most secret’, as was said already in 9.1. Madhva’s comment on this verse is not in our source text.
ಆಧಾರ: ಹಲವು ಮೂಲಗಳು. ವ್ಯಾಖ್ಯಾನಕಾರರ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯ ಭಿನ್ನವಾಗಿರುವಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಡೂ ಅರ್ಥಗಳನ್ನು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೇವೆ.

ಇಂದಿನ ಬದುಕಿಗೆFor life today
ಶಂಕರಾಚಾರ್ಯರ ‘ಭಯದಿಂದಲ್ಲ, ಲಾಭಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಅಲ್ಲ’ ಮಾತು ಸಲಹೆ ಕೊಡುವ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಮಾನದಂಡ. ವೈದ್ಯರ ಸಲಹೆ ರೋಗಿಯ ಹಿತಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಮಾತ್ರ ಇರಬೇಕು, ಯಾವ ಲಾಭದ ಲೆಕ್ಕಕ್ಕೂ ಅಲ್ಲ.
Shankara’s words ‘not from fear, not for gain’ are a standard for everyone who gives advice. A doctor’s advice must be only for the patient’s good, never for any reckoning of profit.
ದೀರ್ಘ ವಿವರಣೆಯ ನಂತರ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಮತ್ತೆ ಸರಳವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುವುದು ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಗುರುವಿನ ಕರುಣೆ. ರೋಗಿಗೂ ಕೊನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ‘ಮುಖ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಈ ಮೂರು ನೆನಪಿಡಿ’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುವುದು ಅದೇ ಬಗೆಯ ಕಾಳಜಿ.
Restating the main point simply after a long explanation is the kindness of a good teacher. Telling a patient at the end, ‘above all, remember these three things’, is the same kind of care.
