ಶ್ಲೋಕ (ಕನ್ನಡ)
ನ ಚ ತಸ್ಮಾನ್ಮನುಷ್ಯೇಷು ಕಶ್ಚಿನ್ಮೇ ಪ್ರಿಯಕೃತ್ತಮಃ।
ಭವಿತಾ ನ ಚ ಮೇ ತಸ್ಮಾದನ್ಯಃ ಪ್ರಿಯತರೋ ಭುವಿ ॥ 69 ॥
ಶ್ಲೋಕ (ದೇವನಾಗರಿ)
न च तस्मान्मनुष्येषु कश्चिन्मे प्रियकृत्तमः।
भविता न च मे तस्मादन्यः प्रियतरो भुवि ॥ 69 ॥
ಶ್ಲೋಕ (English IAST)
na ca tasmānmanuṣyeṣu kaścinme priyakṛttamaḥ|
bhavitā na ca me tasmādanyaḥ priyataro bhuvi || 69 ||
ಪದಶಃ ಅರ್ಥ
- ಮನುಷ್ಯೇಷು ತಸ್ಮಾತ್ (मनुष्येषु तस्मात्, manuṣyeṣu tasmāt) = ಮನುಷ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನಿಗಿಂತ (among humans, than him)
- ಮೇ ಪ್ರಿಯಕೃತ್ತಮಃ ಕಶ್ಚಿತ್ ನ ಚ (मे प्रियकृत्तमः कश्चित् न च, me priyakṛttamaḥ kaścit na ca) = ನನಗೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಪ್ರಿಯವಾದುದನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವವನು ಯಾರೂ ಇಲ್ಲ (no one does what is dearer to me)
- ಭುವಿ ತಸ್ಮಾತ್ ಅನ್ಯಃ (भुवि तस्मात् अन्यः, bhuvi tasmāt anyaḥ) = ಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನಿಗಿಂತ ಬೇರೆ (on earth, other than him)
- ಮೇ ಪ್ರಿಯತರಃ ನ ಚ ಭವಿತಾ (मे प्रियतरः न च भविता, me priyataraḥ na ca bhavitā) = ನನಗೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಪ್ರಿಯನಾದವನು ಮುಂದೆಯೂ ಇರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ (none will ever be dearer to me)
ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಅರ್ಥ (ಕನ್ನಡ)
ಮನುಷ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನಿಗಿಂತ ನನಗೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಪ್ರಿಯವಾದುದನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವವನು ಯಾರೂ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನಿಗಿಂತ ನನಗೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಪ್ರಿಯನಾದವನು ಮುಂದೆಯೂ ಇರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಅರ್ಥ (ಇಂಗ್ಲಿಷ್)
Among humans there is no one who does what is dearer to me than he, and there will never be another on earth dearer to me than he.

ಗೀತೆಯನ್ನು ಅರ್ಹರಿಗೆ ಹಂಚುವವನ ಸ್ತುತಿ. ಶಂಕರಾಚಾರ್ಯರ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯವನ್ನು ಮುಂದುವರಿಸುವವನಿಗಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಪ್ರಿಯಕರ ಈಗ ಇರುವವರಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾರೂ ಇಲ್ಲ, ಮುಂದಿನ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲೂ ಇರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಶ್ರೀಧರ ಸ್ವಾಮಿಗಳು ‘ಪ್ರಿಯಕೃತ್ತಮ’ವನ್ನು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಸಂತೋಷ ಕೊಡುವವನು ಎನ್ನುತ್ತಾರೆ.
Praise of one who shares the Gita with those fit for it. According to Shankara, among those living now there is none who does greater service than one who continues the tradition of the teaching, nor will there be in time to come. Sridhara Swami takes ‘priyakrittama’ as one who gives the greatest joy.
ರಾಮಾನುಜಾಚಾರ್ಯರು ಹಿಂದಿನ ಎರಡು ಶ್ಲೋಕಗಳ ಕ್ರಮದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಒಂದು ಸೂಕ್ಷ್ಮ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ: ಅರ್ಹರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳದಿರುವುದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಅನರ್ಹರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳುವುದು ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಅನಿಷ್ಟವಾದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅನರ್ಹರ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಮೊದಲು ಹೇಳಿದೆ. ಮಧ್ವಾಚಾರ್ಯರ ವಿವರಣೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಮೂಲ ಪಠ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಶ್ಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ ಇಲ್ಲ.
Ramanuja notes a fine point about the order of the previous two verses: since telling the unfit is worse than not telling the fit, the unfit were mentioned first. Madhva’s comment on this verse is not in our source text.
ಆಧಾರ: ಹಲವು ಮೂಲಗಳು. ವ್ಯಾಖ್ಯಾನಕಾರರ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯ ಭಿನ್ನವಾಗಿರುವಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಡೂ ಅರ್ಥಗಳನ್ನು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೇವೆ.

ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ರೂಪಿಸಿದ ಗುರುಗಳನ್ನು ನೆನೆಯುವುದು, ಅವರಿಗೆ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆ ತೋರುವುದು, ಅವರು ಕಲಿಸಿದ್ದನ್ನು ಮುಂದಿನವರಿಗೆ ದಾಟಿಸುವುದು ಈ ಶ್ಲೋಕದ ಆಶಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹತ್ತಿರ.
Remembering the teachers who shaped us, showing them gratitude, and passing on what they taught to those who come after is close to the spirit of this verse.
ಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ಹಂಚುವುದರಿಂದ ಅದು ಕಡಿಮೆಯಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಹೆಚ್ಚುತ್ತದೆ. ಕಲಿಸುವ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿ ಸಮಾಜವನ್ನು ಬಲಪಡಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
Knowledge does not diminish by being shared, it grows. A culture of teaching strengthens society.
