ವ್ಯಾಸಪ್ರಸಾದಾಚ್ಛ್ರುತವಾನೇತದ್ಗುಹ್ಯಮಹಂ ಪರಮ್।
ಯೋಗಂ ಯೋಗೇಶ್ವರಾತ್ಕೃಷ್ಣಾತ್ಸಾಕ್ಷಾತ್ಕಥಯತಃ ಸ್ವಯಮ್ ॥ 75 ॥
ಶ್ಲೋಕ (ದೇವನಾಗರಿ)
व्यासप्रसादाच्छ्रुतवानेतद्गुह्यमहं परम्।
योगं योगेश्वरात्कृष्णात्साक्षात्कथयतः स्वयम् ॥ 75 ॥

ಪದಶಃ ಅರ್ಥ
- ವ್ಯಾಸಪ್ರಸಾದಾತ್ (व्यासप्रसादात्, vyāsaprasādāt) = ವ್ಯಾಸರ ಪ್ರಸಾದದಿಂದ (by the grace of Vyasa)
- ಏತತ್ ಪರಂ ಗುಹ್ಯಂ ಯೋಗಮ್ (एतत् परं गुह्यं योगम्, etat paraṃ guhyaṃ yogam) = ಈ ಪರಮ ರಹಸ್ಯವಾದ ಯೋಗವನ್ನು (this supreme secret yoga)
- ಯೋಗೇಶ್ವರಾತ್ ಕೃಷ್ಣಾತ್ (योगेश्वरात् कृष्णात्, yogeśvarāt kṛṣṇāt) = ಯೋಗೇಶ್ವರನಾದ ಕೃಷ್ಣನಿಂದ (from Krishna, the lord of yoga)
- ಸಾಕ್ಷಾತ್ ಸ್ವಯಂ ಕಥಯತಃ ಶ್ರುತವಾನ್ (साक्षात् स्वयं कथयतः श्रुतवान्, sākṣāt svayaṃ kathayataḥ śrutavān) = ಅವನೇ ಸ್ವತಃ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ ನೇರವಾಗಿ ಕೇಳಿದೆನು (I heard directly, as he himself spoke it)

ವ್ಯಾಸರ ಪ್ರಸಾದದಿಂದ ಈ ಪರಮ ರಹಸ್ಯವಾದ ಯೋಗವನ್ನು ಯೋಗೇಶ್ವರನಾದ ಕೃಷ್ಣನೇ ಸ್ವತಃ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ ನಾನು ನೇರವಾಗಿ ಕೇಳಿದೆನು.
ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಅರ್ಥ (ಇಂಗ್ಲಿಷ್)
By the grace of Vyasa I heard this supreme secret yoga directly from Krishna, the lord of yoga, as he himself spoke it.

ಸಂಜಯ ಯುದ್ಧಭೂಮಿಯಿಂದ ದೂರ, ಹಸ್ತಿನಾಪುರದ ಅರಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ. ಶ್ರೀಧರ ಸ್ವಾಮಿಗಳ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಭಗವಾನ್ ವ್ಯಾಸರು ಅವನಿಗೆ ದಿವ್ಯವಾದ ಕಣ್ಣು, ಕಿವಿ ಮೊದಲಾದವನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದರು, ಹೀಗೆ ತಾನು ಇದನ್ನು ಕೇಳಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾದ ಬಗೆಯನ್ನು ಅವನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಶಂಕರಾಚಾರ್ಯರು ಎರಡು ಸೂಕ್ಷ್ಮಗಳನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ: ಯೋಗಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಇರುವುದರಿಂದ ಈ ಗ್ರಂಥವೂ ‘ಯೋಗ’ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಜಯ ಕೇಳಿದ್ದು ಪರಂಪರೆಯಿಂದಲ್ಲ, ನೇರವಾಗಿ.
Sanjaya was far from the battlefield, in the palace at Hastinapura. According to Sridhara Swami the revered Vyasa had given him divine eyes, ears and the rest, and so he explains how it was possible for him to hear this. Shankara notes two fine points: since it exists for the sake of yoga, this text itself is ‘yoga’, and Sanjaya heard it not through a chain of tellers but directly.
ರಾಮಾನುಜಾಚಾರ್ಯರು ‘ಯೋಗೇಶ್ವರ’ಕ್ಕೆ ಅರ್ಥ ಕೊಡುತ್ತಾರೆ: ಜ್ಞಾನ, ಬಲ, ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯ, ವೀರ್ಯ, ಶಕ್ತಿ, ತೇಜಸ್ಸುಗಳ ನಿಧಿಯಾದ ಭಗವಂತ. ದಿವ್ಯ ಕಣ್ಣು ಕಿವಿಗಳ ಲಾಭದಿಂದ ಸಂಜಯ ಇದನ್ನು ಸಾಕ್ಷಾತ್ ಕೇಳಿದ ಎನ್ನುತ್ತಾರೆ ಅವರು. ಮಧ್ವಾಚಾರ್ಯರ ವಿವರಣೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಮೂಲ ಪಠ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಶ್ಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ ಇಲ್ಲ.
Ramanuja gives ‘yogeshvara’ its sense: the Lord who is a treasury of knowledge, strength, sovereignty, valour, power and splendour. Through the gift of divine eyes and ears, he says, Sanjaya heard it directly. Madhva’s comment on this verse is not in our source text.
ಆಧಾರ: ಹಲವು ಮೂಲಗಳು. ವ್ಯಾಖ್ಯಾನಕಾರರ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯ ಭಿನ್ನವಾಗಿರುವಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಡೂ ಅರ್ಥಗಳನ್ನು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೇವೆ.

ಸಂಜಯ ತನ್ನ ಅನುಭವವನ್ನು ವ್ಯಾಸರ ಅನುಗ್ರಹಕ್ಕೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ. ನಮಗೆ ದೊರಕಿದ ಜ್ಞಾನದ ಹಿಂದೆ ಗುರುಗಳ, ಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳ, ಹಿರಿಯರ ಕೊಡುಗೆಯನ್ನು ನೆನೆಯುವುದು ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆಯ ಗುರುತು.
Sanjaya credits his experience to Vyasa’s grace. Remembering the gifts of teachers, books and elders behind the knowledge we have received is a mark of gratitude.
ಮೂಲಕ್ಕೆ ಹತ್ತಿರ ಹೋಗುವುದು, ಕೇಳಿದ ಮಾತಿಗಿಂತ ಮೂಲ ಗ್ರಂಥವನ್ನೇ ಓದುವುದು, ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಮಾಹಿತಿಗೂ ಅನ್ವಯಿಸುತ್ತದೆ: ವದಂತಿಗಿಂತ ನಂಬಲರ್ಹ ಮೂಲ ಮೇಲು.
