ಅವಿದ್ಯಾನಾಮಂತ-ಸ್ತಿಮಿರಮಿಹಿರದ್ವೀಪನಗರೀ
ಜಡಾನಾಂ ಚೈತನ್ಯ-ಸ್ತಬಕಮಕರಂದಸ್ರುತಿಝರೀ ।
ದರಿದ್ರಾಣಾಂ ಚಿಂತಾಮಣಿಗುಣನಿಕಾ ಜನ್ಮಜಲಧೌ

अविद्यानामन्तस्तिमिरमिहिरद्वीपनगरी
जडानां चैतन्यस्तबकमकरन्दस्रुतिझरी ।
दरिद्राणां चिन्तामणिगुणनिका जन्मजलधौ
निमग्नानां दंष्ट्रा मुररिपुवराहस्य भवति ॥ 3 ॥

ಪದಶಃ ಅರ್ಥ
- ಅವಿದ್ಯಾನಾಂ (अविद्यानां, avidyānāṃ) = ಅಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳಿಗೆ (for the ignorant)
- ಅಂತಃ ತಿಮಿರ (अन्तः तिमिर, antaḥ timira) = ಒಳಗಿನ ಕತ್ತಲೆಗೆ (for internal darkness)
- ಮಿಹಿರ ದ್ವೀಪ ನಗರೀ (मिहिर द्वीप नगरी, mihira dvīpa nagarī) = ಸೂರ್ಯನ ಉದಯದಂತೆ ಅಥವಾ ಸೂರ್ಯನ ನಗರದಂತೆ ಇರುವವಳು (like the rising sun or the city of the sun)
- ಜಡಾನಾಂ (जडानां, jaḍānāṃ) = ಜಡ ಬುದ್ಧಿಯವರಿಗೆ (for the dull-witted or inert)
- ಚೈತನ್ಯ ಸ್ತಬಕ (चैतन्य स्तबक, caitanya stabaka) = ಚೈತನ್ಯದ ಹೂಗುಚ್ಛದಿಂದ (from the cluster of consciousness/intelligence)
- ಮಕರಂದ ಸ್ರುತಿ ಝರೀ (मकरन्द स्रुति झरी, makaranda sruti jharī) = ಹರಿಯುವ ಮಕರಂದದ ಝರಿಯಂತಿರುವವಳು (stream of flowing nectar/honey)
- ದರಿದ್ರಾಣಾಂ (दरिद्राणां, daridrāṇāṃ) = ಬಡವರಿಗೆ (for the poor)
- ಚಿಂತಾಮಣಿ ಗುಣನಿಕಾ (चिन्तामणि गुणनिका, cintāmaṇi guṇanikā) = ಚಿಂತಾಮಣಿಗಳ ಸರದಂತೆ (like a necklace/string of wish-yielding gems)
- ಜನ್ಮ ಜಲಧೌ (जन्म जलधौ, janma jaladhau) = ಸಂಸಾರ ಸಾಗರದಲ್ಲಿ (in the ocean of birth/samsara)
- ನಿಮಗ್ನಾನಾಂ (निमग्नानां, nimagnānāṃ) = ಮುಳುಗಿದವರಿಗೆ (for those drowned/submerged)
- ದಂಷ್ಟ್ರಾ (दंष्ट्रा, daṃṣṭrā) = ಕೋರೆಹಲ್ಲು (the tusk)
- ಮುರರಿಪು ವರಾಹಸ್ಯ (मुररिपु वराहस्य, muraripu varāhasya) = ವಿಷ್ಣುವಿನ (ಮುರಾರಿಯ) ವರಾಹ ಅವತಾರದ್ದು (of Vishnu’s Boar avatar)

ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಅರ್ಥ (ಕನ್ನಡ)
ಅಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳ ಒಳಗಿನ ಕತ್ತಲೆಗೆ ನೀನು ಉದಯಿಸುವ ಸೂರ್ಯನ ನಗರಿಯಂತೆ. ಬುದ್ಧಿ ಜಡವಾದವರಿಗೆ ನೀನು ಚೈತನ್ಯವೆಂಬ ಹೂಗೊಂಚಲಿನಿಂದ ಒಸರುವ ಮಕರಂದದ ಝರಿ. ಬಡವರಿಗೆ ನೀನು ಚಿಂತಾಮಣಿಗಳ ಸರ. ಸಂಸಾರವೆಂಬ ಸಮುದ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಳುಗಿಹೋದವರಿಗೆ, ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನು ಮೇಲೆತ್ತಿದ ವರಾಹರೂಪಿ ವಿಷ್ಣುವಿನ ಕೋರೆಹಲ್ಲೇ ನೀನು.
ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಅರ್ಥ (ಇಂಗ್ಲಿಷ್)
O Devi, for the ignorant, you are the sunrise that dispels the internal darkness. For the dull-witted, you are a flowing stream of nectar from the flower cluster of consciousness. For the poor, you are a necklace of wish-yielding gems (Chintamani). For those drowned in the ocean of worldly existence (Samsara), you are the supporting tusk of the Boar Avatar of Vishnu (Muraripu) that lifts them up.
